So, I am in the process of "rescuing" a 4 month old female Dobe from an individual on Craigslist. No papers... said they couldn't afford to buy her with her AKC papers. But that matters not to me, b/c I'm NOT a byb and do not intend to be. We spay & neuter ALL of our PETS. I'm not sure about the breeder & all that jazz. She's undoubtedly from a BYB litter, or a not so reputable kennel. But I'd rather give her an awesome, loving, safe home than risk any sleezo picking her up from CL to fight or bait. Anyway, her ears are not cropped. I still need to call around to a few of the reputable vets in my area, but in veteran Dobe owners opinions, is 4 months too late for a sucessful crop? I am fully aware of, & prepared for, all the aftercare, taping & posting. I'm a stay at home Mommy and have the availability to take super good care of her after crop needs. I have an English Bulldog, so I'm well versed in taking care of doggie health issues! But any first hand experience, stories, and just plain old advice would be much appreciated! Thank you!
