We've had a good bit of rain this week and I noticed last night that Jazzy looked to be chewing on something "chewy". I immediately got up to see what she had, but it was gone.
This morning, she was doing the same thing and I finally saw what it was. She had a skinny 3 inch worm hanging from her mouth and she ate it before I could stop her.
She kept sniffing around the yard and would paw the grass and get another. I followed her around a bit and kept her from eating most of them, but I don't want to have to follow her every step if they won't hurt her, though I will if need be.
Maybe I'm too paranoid, but she is NEVER left in the yard without me. I'm not trying to be lazy either, but I do like to sit outside and do a crossword or two after she has gotten some good play and training time in.
Anybody else have a dog that eats worms? I googled it and I have read conflicting posts about worms. One post said a dog could get worms from eating earthworms. She is on monthly Trifexis treatment for heart worm preventative. Trifexis also protects against roundworms and hookworms.
