My dogs don't sleep in anyones bed anymore, in their kennels.

 

Being in the same position as you, husband deploys frequently, our dogs have always slept with us, and when he's gone it helps me considerably. The girls rooms were across the house and side by side so my old girl Shadow used to sleep in the hall on her bed between their doors, but the younger ones slept in my room. We tried to get them to sleep in the kids rooms a few times but they would wind up back in my room. On "occasion" they are all banished to the living room.......and you can always get a dobie for your daughter too....lol

 

my puppy usually sleeps under my bed, but when i shut the lights off he crawls out and puts his paws up on the bed for me to pick him up, so he usually sleeps with me, when its time for me to go to bed

maybe if you crate him in your daughters room he might eventually learn that thats the room hes going to be sleeping in and then he'll sleep in there more comfortably

 

I use to let all of mine sleep in bed, but I found I wasn't getting enough space to sleep well, even with going to a king size bed, they all would be up against me and I'd be on the edge. So now I rotate them, only one each night, the others sleep in the living room, but I do have to have a barrier to keep them from coming into the bed room. When I have company, they aren't interested in sleeping with them. My parents like to have one in with them but no way if I am in my bed, that's where they want to be.

 

I was sending him to bed with my 10 year old at around 830pm. Then when I go to bed (midnight) sneak him out into my bed. So we were sharing. Now he will not sleep with her. Whines until I get him . As soon as I bring him to my bed, he's out cold ...Loves his mommy. Maybe a couple nights a week I should send him to his crate so that he doesn't get used to my bed every night...or keep working on the daughter's bed thing too (maybe bribe him with bones).... He does love his crate, he doesn't cry in there at all. I wouldn't imagine he would with his big fluffy comforter, bones, and toys....

 

We have two humans, three Dobermans and a cat all in one bed.

 

ha i cant trust my puppy not to chew things up in the middle of the night. it's never happened because i haven't given him the chance but i just thinks its better safe than sorry.

 

Titan in my bed right now under the covers. Although once I decide to get into bed he'll quickly take his place in his bed on the floor.

 

If you don't want them in your bed every night get him used to sleeping somewhere else now! Reichen and Becka have me so trained I lift the covers for them and cling to the edge so they can cleep comfortably. Then they wake me up at least twice during the night because they need to readjust.

I have tried to make them go into a crate at night but unless I close the door I always wake up in the middle of the night to someone on top of me.

Next puppy I am promising myself they are not sleeping in my bed! They are nice bed warmers but they don't need to be up there.

In all honesty I like them in there, but I would like to be stronger and more resistant to the guilty eyes and have a good night's sleep.

 

Mine dobermans sleep in their crates at night with their blankets and beds. They will go in them if they are really tired and go to sleep. The chihuahua sleeps with me though.

 

Cody sleeps in the living room on her bed. However, if mom allowed, she'd be right there in the bed with her. LOL I work nights or else she would be sleeping with me in my bed.

 

Barlee starts of at the end of our bedthen we wake up and shes snuggled up inbetween us, normally spread right outon her back! lol

 

For several years,We were all (2 Dobes,250lb.husband,myself)in the same bed.After many nights of having to move to the couch to rest, I put had to insist that the kids move to the couch at night.After the first night of whining at the door, we had no problems.The guilt was harder on me than relocating was on them!!

When Sabrina was younger she always slept in her crate & did fine. But we always planned for her to transition from sleeping in the crate to out of the crate. She now has her own very cozy bed next to our bed. When it's time to go to bed I just tell her to get in her bed, cover her up & give her a goodnight kiss.

However, one night, Sabrina got in the bed with me in the middle of the night. My husband was working a midnight. I caved in & let her stay. She's a complete bedhog! She was constantly readjusting her position, turning in circles & plopping down with a loud humph so she could get as close as possible to me. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep that night. So from then on, she sleeps in her own bed NEXT to ours. Our min-pin sleeps in our bed, not so much to contend with!

Micah slept with me from day 1, then when I got married the three of us were cramped on to a double bed! (Hubby and I are NOT small people!) Micah wasn't small either!
Then when I got pregnant I bought her a dog bed and placed it right next to our bed. Micah would get into her bed and I would cover her up with her very own twin sized comforter! Man what a difference that was..
Then daughter arrived and started sleeping with us! Micah spent the rest of her days in a dog bed with a mountain of covers that I would fluff and plump for her every night.. She wouldn't not get into her bed if it wasn't properly made!

I'd love for all of mine to sleep right on top of me however, my husband disagrees. Jeeze Men.. can't live without em ya know.. They are kind of cute though. (If my husband goes out of town we cheat and everyone gets to sleep on the bed. )

Anyway, my 2 current big dogs have their own beds beside my mine. My little Pom sleeps with me as does the cat when he's not curled up next to a dog on their beds. If we introduce a foster they are given a bed in the same room.

 

My dogs sleeps in the hall ouside the bedroom. On the floor. My dogs always lay on the floor, and not in the sofa or bed. Its because they are so big and I think furnitures are peoples place

 

Ripley sleeps in his crate in my bedroom. Someday when he's a bit older and I can trust him to behave himself at night, I'll probably let him sleep in my bed. Keira sleeps in my mom's room, and she alternates between mom's bed and her crate.

 

Odin sleeps in his bed on the floor at the foot of my bed. In the mornings, he puts his paws on the bed and waits for me to invite him up. I usually do so for an hour or two before I actually get up.

He has slept in his own bed after the first night I brought him home.

My 3 sleep on their own beds in our room or the greyhounds also sleep on the guest bed sometimes, but they don't get to sleep with us. I don't let them sleep in bed with me when DH is underway either.
