Other than buying show collars and leads at shows, where do you guys purchase them and do you like any better than others?

Thanks!

I have bought online from some suppliers, recently I bought a kangaroo leather all-in-one, which I had made to get the size I wanted and beads without out colour- very pleased with it. But usually I buy at the shows. I do prefer to use a chain collar to nylon and the leashes that loop through instead of a clip.

my mom bought her show collars/leads at the shows. i just use everyday collars/ leashes. i use a braided nylon one for walkies and a 15ft one for park trips. hes on choke chain, but im switching to a harness.as he seldom needs correction on lead.lol.
sorry i cant help on ''show leads'' tho.lol

Should I be getting a 1.2mm, 1.4mm,1.6mm or 2.0mm??
I'm not even sure since I just do it by sight. That link that I posted is a vendor that is at all of our shows. I *think* it's the 2.0, but I can't be sure unless I see it in person. I get the curb link ones, I have always hated hex link chains. And I use a kangaroo lead that loops around the ring on the chain, I don't like snaps.

I would go with Resco cordohide loop show leads. They are strong, inexpensive and smooth on the hand. For Reggie, we use a fine silver or gold chain collar.
I have found that Kangaroo leather *can* break with a strong dog. I was quite unhappy after spending $50 on a show lead.

Dog Show Leads - Snap Leads - Loop Leads - Slip Leads

The loop leads are at the bottom. They are inexpensive too, so if you get one and don't like it it's no big loss.

I use either a nylon choke or a thin (thinner than the one Julie posted pics of) chain choker.

For a lead, I buy a thin (probably 1/8") latigo leather lead that's probably 2 feet long or so, the ones where the clasp is braided onto the lead. I then unbraid it and remove the clasp, then braid one of the rings from the collar onto the lead. You then wind up with a permanent one-piece arrangement.

All of these items are usually purchased at shows. If you're going to buy a chain choker, I'd stay away from the "snake" chains, they can make cuts on the dog's neck.

I have used the same as above - bought at local shows, but the vendor does sell online as well. They guarantee their products. I have 3 latigo leather leads and gold jeweler link chain - started out w/ a small one when she was a pup (14 in) and now have 18 & 20 inch ones. They sell the leads w/o the metal clip and will put them together for you if want.
The also have other styles of leather leads and have always been very helpful when I've dealt w/ them at the shows.
