There are two female Dobes in Mobile County Animal Shelter that are in DIRE need of rescue!

One is a Senior that looks so sweet!

The other was almost put down today due to lack of space. She looks like she has been bred one too many times, has natural ears and tail and looks just so pitiful!!! She will probably be put down soon if not rescued within the next few days.

Also, in Summerdale, there's a 1 1/2 year old male that needs to be rescued. Thanks to hjgrl for letting me know about him. Tracy Long is the coordinator at Summerdale Animal Shelter.

These poor sweet things are in trouble and need help!

If we can find a foster, I will try and pull them. We're not in a position to long-term right now but can hold for a week at the most.

I have contacted Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue, Florida Doberman Rescue, and Doberman Rescue Alliance of Florida already.

Attached is a picture of the poor girl that looks like she has had a tough road and looks like she recently had a litter. Breaks my heart!

They are safe!!!

Another Dobie momma and I have adopted these two girls to foster them until a more long-term foster or forever home is found!!!!

I will be setting up a ChipIn soon and will keep everyone posted!!!!

I am so glad these girls are out! The 2 year old was on the operating table to be KILLED yesterday and they had the heart to not do it!

Just in time!!!

We received a little help from Hampton Meadows Rescue but we pulled them as individuals. Shockingly, there are NO rescues on Mobile County Animal Shelter's rescue list for pulling dogs! But I am networking with every Doberman rescue here in the South to work to find a long-term foster as well as a forever home!!!

I have Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue, Doberman Rescue Alliance of Florida, Florida Doberman Rescue, Atlanta Doberman Rescue, and two small rescues that are working really hard on the case!

I will be getting a ChipIn account soon. I signed up around 1 pm today and still haven't received a confirmation email yet. Ridiculous!

So, I will let yall know!

I just about cried when I saw this poor girl! She just rested her poor thin head in my lap and looks much worse than her picture shows!

Thanks so much for getting these girls out. I have pulled a foster as an individual before, so I know it can be a bit intimidating.

Just a tip: You might to look at going through SND or DAN to raise funds; maybe even one of the rescues, if they do accept them. I know there has been a lot of accusations of abuse with the chip-ins (not accusing you in any way), and I know many folks feel more comfortable donating through non-profits with a good track record.

I personally would only donate through an above mentioned organization. I am just trying to help these girls get the best and most exposure; a chip-in might turn some away from stepping up to donate funds.

Thanks again for saving her. That picture is just heartbreaking. Please keep us posted.

Yeah, I'm not even getting through with ChipIn and might have a rescue go ahead and make one for the girls if they already have an account.

It's been almost 24 hours since I signed up and still can't get a confirmation email.

So, I will probably ask another rescue to go ahead and do that so we can start getting help for these girls.

ChipIn: Dobie Girl Needs Help Now!

Here is the ChipIn that was created by SouthBARK, the local dog rescue here in Mobile. They will be taking care of the funds so that everyone is comfortable with donating to a rescue, since I know you don't know me!

Please consider donating to these girls!!!!! We will be dividing the funds towards the 2 year old and the 7 year old Senior!

THANK YOU!

coastiewife, when you and the other person adopted these girls from the shelter. what was included in their adoption fee? According to the Mobile County Animal Shelter website the $80.00 fee should have included "Unaltered Animals: Fees include spaying and neutering, rabies shot, 5-in-1 vaccination, wormer". I'm not picking on you or trying to be a bitch and there is no doubt in my mind that these girls are going to need further care, but I am really trying to understand what is going on here. I thank and admire the fact that you and another person are trying to help these 2 dogs. You have mentioned the names of some people and organizations on this thread that are very reputable in regards to rescue. You have also just posted a link for a ChipIn through SouthBARK (I am unfamiliar with that organization). The problem I have is that the ChipIn is giving incorrect information. "A severely malnourished doberman was dropped off at the Mobile County Animal Shelter in Mobile, AL and is in danger of being put down" The dog has been adopted by you so she is no longer in danger. "Please help us save her! We aren't quite sure what vetting she will need. She may have been bred and dumped after her puppies were sold. this wonderful girl is so sweet and trusting- despite all she has been through she just wants love- and we want her to be safe. She needs help with vetting and we need a rescue to step up for her. Please crosspost her picture and her story and help us help her! She is at the Mobile, AL county shelter at present and will be transported to a vet as soon as we can come up with money to bail her out. "". We will provide an update with the vet information and her condition as soon as possible. Thank you for helping us save her!

I absolutely HATE to say ANYTHING negative about anything in regards to rescue but things like this truly bother me. If funds are going to be solicited through any organization, I believe that the truth should be told. I think you should have the misinformation that has been posted corrected ASAP.

Here is why I am so upset. It is hard enough to get people to donate towards rescue. If people donate to these dogs under the pretense that their money was going to save these dogs from being euthanised at the shelter, as the ChipIn suggests, and someone then found out that wasn't the case at all, it has the potential to make people very angry and cynical. This could potentially stop someone from donating in the future.

I hope that a reputable rescue will assist you helping with and to place these 2 girls. I might also suggest that you get the permission of individual and organizations involved in rescue before posting information to a public forum that they are not directly responsible for. I'm not trying to give you a hard time or discourage your rescue efforts, but those who are involved in and dedicated to rescue try to be very careful about information that they post, especially when it has the potential to have negative effects.

I will keep these 2 girls in my prayers that they find their safe, loving and forever homes.

I should have clarified. They had this ChipIn in place for her before I adopted her out. I didn't know about it until just a few hours ago and was glad that one was already set up for her.

So, that information is still up there and I will ask that it be edited.

The fee was $80 and does include what Mobile said. We will also be taking these dogs to the vet for a full examination and I am quite sure that the 2 year old will need some further vet care.

And, I have spoken to every rescue and they are all behind me in this. I already have an individual through a rescue that has possibly already found a home for her as well.

All of the rescues I have mentioned are the ones that asked that I set up a ChipIn. These girls are a group rescue effort. SouthBARK is a reputable local dog rescue and I'm grateful that they had already started a ChipIn for this girl because they couldn't stand to see her die.

So, I didn't post anything that was meant to not be posted.

The reason why we have a ChipIn in place is because even though I was willing to go get her out of that crap hole place, I don't have the financial means to cover all of the cost. Because I am in the area, I had a few of the above mentioned rescues say that all they needed was someone to get them and they'd provide the means.

So, the ChipIn is not intended to be a lie. It was set in place before she was saved and has not been edited. But I will ask them to change it.

I have practically every Doberman rescue here in the South, and even one in Pennsylvania, that is working very hard to place these girls!

Here are the two girls soooo happy to be out of the shelter and in a warm cozy home!

First picture is my sweet Hope! I am head over heels for this girl and I'm spoiling her absolutely rotten! She has already learned most commands! One smart cookie! She and I are best buds already and love cuddling!

The second is of Jada! Her foster mama is taking good care of her! She's the sweetest thing!

Wait a second? Are you fostering this girl? Or did you actually adopt her? Wasn't it just a measly nine days ago you introduced yourself here, saying you were looking at some rescue Dobes, hoping that you might find one some day?!?!

:hehe:BWAH HAH HAH! You fool!! You're doomed!!! You've been sucked into the deep dark pool that is the liquid hypnosis of grateful RescuedDoberEyes!

Bless you for rescuing this girl! You won't regret a minute of it.

Hi, thanks again for helping these girls out. Hopefully you will continue to look for a foster for Hope.

All due respect, you mentioned that you did not have the financial means to pull her from the shelter, and the chip-in was set up to help support them in the interim. I can only conclude that you are not in the financial position to care for her in the long-term.

I am not trying to pick on you, or make you feel bad, and I know how hard it is sometimes to let fosters go, but over extending yourself will not benefit her or you.

My understanding was ADR was willing to accept her as a rescue? Is that not the case any longer?

Best of luck to you both.
