Post #3 has some contact info for other places you can go to for recommendations--Doberman Chapter Clubs (NC and surrounding states) and reputable doberman breeders in your area, for example.

Be careful. Not all vets who say they crop ears can do a good job at it. Cropping is an art as well as a surgical procedure. Be prepared to travel to find a good vet. Also don't delay your search--the earlier you can find a vet, the better. Good cropping vet schedules fill fast.

I would use Dr Nevens... but better yet, you could just purchase a puppy already cropped from a reputable preservation type breeder. You would forego all of the potential headache and come home with a nice example of a doberman with ears cropped, healed, and support from a breeder for the life of your puppy.

 

Is there a reason this breeder does not crop their puppies before sending them home? What drew you to this breeder?

I will echo what gk said, and add that you may be dealing with a backyard breeder and may end up with a puppy with more issues than you would from a reputable breeder, including the issues that come along with healing from cropping.
