Doberman Stud

Hi All

Can you helo? I was wondering how you guys go about finding studs for your dogs or Studding out your dogs. I know alot breeding arrangements are made at dog shows and go on show results, but I cannot show my dog in the UK with him being cropped/docked therefore cannot go to shows.
He is such a high class Doberman he could offer alot and would be a real shame if he wasnt used.
I have seen a few website but they dont look that great.

Thank You
Kind Regards
Charlie

I would talk to your breeder about this. They may have some insight into a good candidate or even advise you why you should or shouldn't breed your dog.

Hi! Check out the "before you breed" ( I think that's it) thread... you might find some good info there.

If your dog is an import and in England (I mention England as you say you can't show him there) he must have had a passport to enter the country, if thats the case you can show him in parts of Europe depending on when he was born any dog cropped after may 2004 can't be shown in France but can still be shown in Luxembourg, but you can travel out of England if his passport is up to date rabies jab blood test etc.

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

Showing in other parts of Europe that allow cropped/docked Dobes would be your best bet.

Why do you want your dog used at stud?

Is he healthy? What health tests will you be doing before he is used at stud?

I ask the health questions as I lost my dobe to DCM whose father apparently also died from DCM, and no testing was done.

Think if he really needs to be used.
