Skyler sleeps in her crate in our bedroom. Our rat terrier sleeps with us, and she was here six years before Skyler, so Cassie has dibs on our bed. The only time Skyler is allowed on our bed is when my husband or I am on the computer. She just goes to sleep usually when we're using it. Skyler has a big bed in our living room, and hopefully we can get her to sleep on that during the night in the future. We make her get on that when we have company over other than family. They can get on our furniture, but they also get off when we tell them to. So, they're not dominant about it, but they love napping on the sofa. Our furniture is leather, so it's easy to keep the hair off. Skyler loves sucking on her blanket, so she is in the floor alot.

[QUOTE=Kratty]Here's a fun one to see how spoiled our dobies are. My bet is that they are....

Do you let your doberman……

• Sleep in your bed with you? Do they sleep on top or under the covers? When did they first start sleeping in the bed? Or do they have their own bed? Harley has his own bed he sleeps inside at our bedroom door. My husband is allergic to him, but occasionally I sneak him up there. It is a bit squashy with the GSD and the Dobe competing for the closest spot to me. It usually happens when I have had a late night and I am feeling guilty for not walking them.
• Sit/sleep on your furniture? Do they have their favorite piece of furniture? How many have leather couches? When did you first ley them sit on the furniture? We have a white suede lounge, so from word go I tried to keep him off it....with not much success but finally we got there. He has his own doggie bed to recline on, thankfully he stays on it now. Keeping that lounge clean and dog hair free was fast becoming my worst nightmare. I love my dog and would of been so easy to give in as we all know dobie puppies are irresitable. But I love my great furniture I worked hard to pay for as well.

Ok, Orson has his crate right by my side of the bed, he never minds sleeping in it.............it was my idea to have him on the bed, he is just so darn warm! He decides wether to sleep on or under the covers. (I want another dobe and my husband says not until we have a king size bed!! We only have a queen now)

He is allowed to be on the family room furniture, Phoebe always has when no one else was using it so Orson does her one better and sits ON anyone using it. The living room furniture is not even a year old yet, so that is off limits to the dogs, (it would be a nice rule for the kids too )

Living room furniture is leather, family room is not, but I am hoping the dogs will finish it off so I can shop for new!!

All leather furniture!!! They are allowed on any of the furniture. They would sleep with me, all my dogs in the past have, but I have wood steps and I am paranoid about them falling so they stay downstairs. I would love to get carpet treads soon

From day one, Loki has never been allowed on any of the furniture or the bed. He has his own bedroom with his crate and he'll usually put himself to bed when he gets tired. We keep a nice fluffy rug in the bedroom and he'll nap and play with his toys on the rug during the day.

He never has an interest on jumping on the couch when it's just us at home; the only times he'll jump up there is when company comes over. We'll let it slide on those special occasions, but he knows once the company goes, the ground rules are re-set.

Buddy sleeps in a crate in my bedroom at 10 mos. old not safe to have him loose he is not allowed on the furniture.(Buddy will eat anything couch ,chair, table,do not trust him yet.) Only have super single water bed.
Patches sleeps in a crate at night or if we go somewhere, she is not suppose to jump on the furniture because she is a Doxie but she jumps on all of the furniture caught her on the dinning room table the other day(hubby left his chair out) she sleeps on my husbands chair,my ottoman,& couch so much for jumping up & down.
Gizmo has he own bed has never been on the bed or furniture she was a very ill little puppy so never did get on anything.
Buddy would like to get on the furniture but he is way too big. One of these years I would like to put the crate up & he can sleep on his Kuranda bed its on the covered Patio outside now.Would put the Kuranda bed in my room when & if Buddy is ever trustworthy to be left loose in the house and when Gizmo is no longer with us she gets to be loose all night the other two are crated she is 14 so she likes to be on her own loose at night.

My husband is a night owl. We have a queen size bed. Sometimes Cole sleeps with me in the bed because his dad is up all night. If dad decides to come to bed at the wee hours of the morning (like 4 am,) he lets Cole sleep with me until I get up, then he goes to bed with Cole or Cole gets up with me. Cole does not like sleeping under covers.

He sits/sleeps wherever he wants. Did so from the minute he got home with us. The only restriction was the white couch in the living room. But that didn't last long either.

All dogs is the bed - when the puppy can hold it all night. We at one time had Drago - male GSD, Anja - female GSD and our Weimeriner - Heidi all in the bed at one time. More combined weight than my wife and me.

Petey has been with us 7 weeks. He was 10 weeks old when we got him and never lived outside of a kennel. Night one....he was in his crate. Night two...he never made it there....in bed with hubby and I since. He does have a large comfy LL Bean doggie bed at the foot of ours...and he will have to sleep there soon...he is getting too big!

About the furniture.....Petey has a doggie bed in the FR and LR....we are so crazy about this pup....guess who is up on the couches? The two Weimaraners I recently lost....must be up there at the Rainbow bridge saying WHAT THE ****?????

Well you say that Petey will soon be to big for your bed and will have to sleep on his bed. LOL. I said the same thing and now here is a reality check. Our kingsize bed is now occupied with two humans and two very SRD(spoiled rotten dobermans). I had a dog bed specially made(almost twin size) that is on the floor on my side of the bed. Do the dogs sleep on it? NEVER. Well that's not exactly true, Gaston will lay on it when I have striped the sheets off of our, NO that would be THEIR kingsize bed!!!! Here would be proof in what I have just said:

I don't know LTH, but this is alittle risque to me. Looks like these should be in Playdog magizine. I'm sure Woof Hefner would pay big bucks for these. Great pictures once again.

Well, when your right, your right. My Innocent Delicate flower, <hanging over my shoulder, with tongue touching my lower arm> says, "woof, woof, grrrrrreat. hubba hubba." She requests a signed 8X10 shot then.

Luvbirds, all I can say is HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You have no idea what's coming! Listen to LTH and look at her shameless bed hogs. Your Petey will be no different and maybe even worse, if that's possible. Once you let them on the bed, you may as well accept the fact that you are powerless to ever change it.

LTH, those two of yours are the worst I've ever seen in the spoiled department! Gaston...hubba hubba, boy. Playdog Magazine...too funny!

Java isn't allowed on the furniture and if she happens to sneak into the living room and I catch her, all I need to do is snap my fingers and point to the floor, and the ears go back and she skulks (no other word for it) off of the couch. So funny, you'd swear she's trying to make herself invisible.

I let her sleep on the bed on rare occasions when hubby is out of town. Have an old sheet on top of the duvet plus a polar fleece throw for her. Doesn't matter how big the bed is, she plasters herself as close to me as she can. Half the time I wake up with my leg asleep from her sleeping on it during the night. Much easier for me to get a good sleep if she is in her crate (which has a faux sheepskin liner, a fleece blanket plus, if it's an especially cold night, I put a throw over the crate to keep it extra toasty - even though the crate is near a warm air register).

I didn't see the photo of Gaston at first! I woke up Monday morning with Java in this same position (on her back), half draped over me. When I moved her she let out the most indignant moan as if I was inconveniencing HER. Amazing how they just bliss out and roll onto their backs when they have room to stretch out!

Isabelle sleeps in bed with us on top of the covers. She started when she was about a year old - before that she slept in her kennel. She was never a fan of the kennel. She sleeps in the middle on the bed all streched out & she snores. She also moans as she gets comfy. She has always been allowed on the couches since she was big enough to get on them herself. She will get off the couch if told. The bed is another story - if she's sleeping there is no moving her once she get comfortable.

Yes, Apollo sleeps in bed with me - as long as my husband isn't around! And he's pretty much always been allowed on the furniture. My hubby gave up on trying to keep him off about two years ago. Guess it didn't help that I always let him up! Talk about mixed signals! But Apollo figured it out and only sat on the sofa when he wasn't home.

Erm Suki is allowed on the leather suite (Italian leather and was only three months old when she joined us). It wasn't a big issue at first but now her claws are a bit more prominent I have throws on the cushions to prevent scuffing. She's bathed regularly and leather cleans so easily and there's nothing better than cuddling up beside her. And yes she takes priority over guests - it's her house and she likes being cuddled! Anyway haven't met anyone brave enough to chase her off the seat yet.

We've only got a double bed and although Suki starts off in her bed in our room she waits until we're asleep and then crawls up between us, then lies across us, puts her paws over us - she fidgets like mad! I've woken up many a morning and only my head is in the bed Thing is the bed is fairly new and cost a fortune - not keen on having to replace so soon. Isn't too bad as I work away from home 10 days every fortnight so it's not often we have to put up with it.

• Sleep in your bed with you?
Only if he is invited to watch a few evening shows....His favorite is The Unit on Tuesday nights. LOL He also likes Survivor. LOL He is also allowed to sleep with me through the night if it is extemely cold during the winter.
Do they sleep on top or under the covers?
He will sleep on top or under...He mostly will nudge up the comforter and make a nest, then plop down with a big sigh of relief.
When did they first start sleeping in the bed?
I swore I would not let him on the bed.......but, after his shivering episodes and his sad eyes...I couldn't resist. BTW...I have a king size bed and he sleeps exactly right in the middle of the entire bed...so I have about 1/4 of the bed for my self. And I have the scrapes from his nails on my legs and torso to prove it!
Or do they have their own bed?
He has his own bed........a baby matress bought at a thrift shop for $5, with a foam top I cut to fit and my mom made a cover for it. JJ the black cat uses it the most. It is infront of the heater vent.
see here:

• Sit/sleep on your furniture?
His favorite is the couch.....and I cover it with a blanket, too!
Do they have their favorite piece of furniture?
leather couch
How many have leather couches?
Wouldn't buy anything but leather.
When did you first ley them sit on the furniture?
About 2 weeks after I brought him home. Darnit!
and here:

RUDI AND JJ ARE SOUL BROTHERS.

I now can haz a sister?

If you are not fully health testing and titling your Dobermans, I'm not buying. I'm not a sucker for a greeder, back yard breeder or puppy miller. I've done my research......have you???
