Yesterday I picked up turkey necks (with giblets) for the dogs to keep them busy while I was making a big pot of spaghetti sauce.

The other three gulped down theirs very quickly. They thought they had died and gone to Dog Heaven!

Mensa, not so much:

She wasn't too thrilled, to say the least!

After fooling with it off and on for a couple hours she finally ate it.

Glad i am not the only one with a Miss Picky Pants,Amber turns her nose up at chicken backs but she is more keen to eat chicken necks, maybe you should try backs Chaz and if she prefers them we will have to set up an exchange program(dogs or chicken parts):):):)

HA!! That is Cole exactly. I think he does not like the texture or something. So, we alternate between cooked and raw. When he is on a raw kick, I feed it to him. Then all of a sudden, he will turn up his nose and not eat it again for months. Picky, picky, picky.

She reminds me of someone I know. Petey is exactly the same.....the most picky dog ever. Sometimes I have to cook his ground meal (no bones in it) because he will just leave it all day. Forget about the bone meals....there are days he won't touch them. I guess I need to just let him get very hungry.

The stretch at the end is classic. She and Rudi would get along JUST fine!

Too funny! The balloon over her head should read 'Shouldn't this be served roasted with gravey and mashed potatoes? What are they thinking???' Java loves giblets, but has only had them after I've pulled them from the stock pot. Will have to try the raw turkey necks and see how she reacts.

Have to agree - that yoga stretch is pure Java as well!

That is very cute. Some dogs won't eat raw if it's fridge cold....?
I have no problems (so far) feeding FiFi raw, she gobbles everything up.

I know most of you are the raw group, but I`m the cooking mom. They can hardly wait for their dinners. I guess I`m just their own personal short-order cook.:) Before long they will be asking me for a menu and maybe a beer to with it.

Java gets homecooked as well - and on occasion has the nerve to race to her feeding spot in the mudroom and bark at me when I'm too slow bringing the food out! She's become much more patient, esp when she hears my footsteps retreat and the steel of the bowl hitting the kitchen island.

Java's not that picky an eater - unless you count a preference of blue-cheese-stuffed olives over pitted green olives (which immediately get spit out unchewed) being picky....

Hahahahahahha, I totally loved the bored stretch at the end! She is a riot!

That is Phoebe! I tried to give them some chicken quarters.......she sniffed it, looked at me then the chicken, back and forth a couple times........then walked off and left it there! So I won't try raw again anytime soon........they both prefer cooked.

And Java, Orson is big for his britches too, if I am not slopping it up fast enough he does the nose poke to my butt, then barks at me!
