Nike just took out one of the posts that holds up the overhang on my front porch in an attempt to go after another dog.. Holy cow, we are gonna be in big trouble when hubby gets home. Ugh. lol.

How in the world did she do that? I hope your hubby isn't too mad at you guys :)

I had her on a tie out... to that post.

It needed to be replaced at some point, she just increased the urgency. lol.
Oh my.. Well to Nike defence.. Only trying to protect the property.. and if the post came away that easy then there was something wrong with it to begin with and I would be thanking Nike for showing you that it was defective and possibly saving your life.
Oh my. She really either wanted to play or put that dog in it's place for walking down her street.
Wow. Hope he isn't to upset with you. Glad no one got hurt.
I think it's kinda funny!! Sorry but I can just picture ******* doing something like that..lol.
*giggles behind her hand*
I'm sorry Nike did that...
uummm...I'd be questioning how well built the post was though. A dog shouldn't be able to do THAT much damage,
and tell the hubby to thank whomever that she did it when she did and not when there was a chance of someone getting hurt! She's showing you what needs to be fixed! That's it - she's trying to protect you!!~
Just place a folded towel up against the base of it and pound away with a hammer. You might get it pretty well back into place before he gets home.
Tell hubby a strong wind came by. Post must have been weak. Can you tell I`ve been married awhile?:)

...and then running down the street dragging the post behind her. LOL
It *is* funny, actually. It's always funny as long as nobody gets hurt! Hubby wasn't mad nor was he surprised that it happened. Apparently, the bottom of the post rotted. It makes me wonder where else the builder *didn't* use pressure treated wood.

And now the neighbors are all checking their posts.. so Nike did everyone a favor!

Exactly!!!
She was just looking out for you.....lollol.
OH My!! Now that it all worked out fine, I guess she gets a treat :)

Who's the builder?
Thank goodness no one was hurt. These builders these days cut to many corners.
ROFLMAO!!

At least the porch roof was attached well...........or it could've been much worse.
When we had our house built, the carpenter that did our entry way used plain 4x4 wood posts (though, I think they were pressure treated wood). At least your builder made an attempt to make them decorative with larger end caps. I had actually specified turned posts, so I had them replaced prior to closing. Since the turned posts are not pressure treated wood, they sit on top of metal risers. The risers allow water to drain away and keeps the wood from contacting directly to the porch. It's been 10 years so I guess our builder did that much right.

We have one of those swivel tie-out stakes sunk in the ground in the front yard. The only time Lena has jumped the four foot fence in our backyard was to be near my son while he was doing yard work in the front. One minute she was in the backyard whining, the next minute she was sitting next to him while he shoveled mulch. She just had to be close. Rather then tempt fate, we just tie her up in the front if that's where we are going to be. Velcro Dobe!

awww lol your house looks really cute though! I can't tell who got hurt more the house or Nike haha. You would think the house would win...but guess not :)
