Cypress was awarded Winner's Bitch and Best of Winner's last weekend under Judge Jerry Watson for our first point at the Belle City KC show at Purina Farms in Gray Summit, MO.

We hadn't been in the ring since June 2021 because my life has been a firehose the last couple of years. So, I really wasn't sure what our first time back would be like but I guess now I can say it went well! :)

Cypress is the first dog I've ever trained for, or shown, in conformation. She's been a good and forgiving partner, as she tends to be in everything we do. She's thoughtful, eager, and tries hard to "be right." We're already entered in a couple more shows, with more on our calendar to enter this spring and summer, but our next event will be our debut in the obedience and rally show ring. (If I'm being honest, although we've been working hard and I know we're ready, the obedience ring makes me more nervous than the conformation ring! 😆)

Overall, I'm very proud of my girl. She showed well and we had fun!

Cypress was bred by Charlene Dunnam of Sirai Dobermans. Her breeding is Bono x Cessna.

Congratulations Cypress--to you and your handler. I'm glad to see there is at least one other person who gets more nervous in the performance rings than in the conformation ring. The best thing that ever happened to me and my Dobes was finding a friend who loved showing in performance.

She's very pretty--hmmm let's see--she must be Sirai's Novel Weapon.

Thanks, everyone!

I think we make a good team and I'm excited for what's ahead with this girl.

Yes, I'm always so nervous before an obedience show! I've never had any truly disastrous experiences at obedience shows but Fiona's performative independence at agility shows left a mark.

I will say that I do usually like the ring times better in obedience than conformation.

(And yes, she's Sirai's Novel Weapon.)
