Catch is one activity Anouk will do for zero treats, loves to play for quite a while. She loves catching mini kong/mini tennis balls. She is now no more than 50lbs but I’m getting paranoid one of these could lodge in her throat. At the same time, probably ridiculous since she’d have a tiny throat and I only toss these - a much slower toss than her catch/snap speed. We play indoors for short distance but it’s something I’d like to add to her yard play.
She will catch regular frisbees, small ones I found at PetSmart, $1.50 cheapos. Her least favorite thing to catch. She likes these Chuck-it rings that are pretty small but they are clunky heavy (rubber with rope imbedded around the rim - some kind of all purpose toy). She can catch a regular tennis ball. They bounce off her teeth more often and I think they are too big for her jaw (we use for fetch though).
She’s 9 months old but petite, I think. Doberman mix. She most likes these small tennis balls but I don’t know if these are good for longer range catch. Or if she’s going to end up only a medium sized dog should she catch a regular ball. I’ve only had fetching dogs. She started catching on her own. It was more interesting to her.
