I'm sure Buddy's enjoying getting out as often as you are now.
The only thing I know that will measure mileage on a rig like yours is a GPS unit, but they're kind of on the pricey side. The cheapest ones are about $100, but even the cheapest one will do what you want (keep track of mileage).
The pedometers made to measure walking distance are set to keep track of the number of steps you take, then multiply that by the average length of each step. I don't know if they'll work with dogs or not. It may be tricky to get an accurate measurement of Buddy's stride (assuming he takes consistent steps).

About $92 and not only does it keep track of distance traveled, but also current speeed, top speed, and average speed. And if you get lost it points you back home!
