Hi Zany! Are you?

Zany, I mean--I can already see you're beautiful. :)
I was hoping for some reverse psychology... call her crazy and she won't be??
She is so, so very smart and clever, and pretty fearless. Just the right amount of caution so far.

Hey! Shades of the shirt tail relative group--her sire is one of Toad's great grandson's--(hmm maybe a great great grandson) but look back there and you'll find the Toad.

And just for the record John L's own dog is a Toad grandson..

Can't hardly wait to watch her grow.

Yes, Toad is our girl's great great grandpa! I was so happy to see that!
Cheryl's Conner is, too. Both boys are so imprinted on me, that I was very happy to see them there.

It's been almost 4 weeks since our little gal came home, and I can't believe how much she's grown already. She is as smart and clever as they come and also extremely sweet. Zyan has contemplated moving out every now and then, haha, but on the whole seems to thoroughly enjoy the company.
Here are some shots for anyone interested.

Waiting for Zyan to come out of the woods.

She is already so much bigger! I am so grateful Zyan is, for the most part, an excellent role model for her. He can see her mind work while he does something, and she mimics him all the time.

What a nice looking pair! I think I like the blanket snuggle picture the best.

Your posting method looks interesting. How did you do it? Plastic insert (ziptie?), bridge and ?

I love that shot, too!
It is the cork and stay method. So the "stays" (uprights) are zip ties sandwiched in between tape. The "corks" are made of tightly rolled paper towel. The bridge is pipe insulation. My breeder taught me this method a couple decades ago, and I love it.

In general, that is how I feel, too. My thoroughly exhausted body and patience think it feels like half a year

Puppy raising:

It's all of those times when you think "I wish she did better with her potty training" or "I wish she wasn't still biting like a shark" or "I wish I didn't have to take her out in the middle of the night" or "I wish I could just sit down for a second instead of having to watch her like an hawk."

And then you realize all of the sudden that she's past all of those phases--and you miss the little puppy.

You're so right! I've had enough loss in my life to appreciate even the stuff that drives me bonkers, because I know one day I'll be reminiscing. I try very, very hard to appreciate all the things while they happen :)
