The past couple days have been so hot and all the furries want to do is sleep. I've taken it easy on him because it is so hot to do walks but you do have to study. I tried doing the walking but he was so mopy and hot we only got a couple minutes done so we got some water and did our stays. He did wonderfully considering one of the kids let Summer out in the middle of the sit/stay and he didn't break at all. I walked around the yard and thought to bring my camera to snap some pictures of my good staying boy.

This was before training yesterday. The sun does this to him and then I make up for it at night.

Sit/stay from about 20 feet (didn't count the time).

Down/stay from about 20 feet (didn't count).

And "leave it"

We also did his stands and all I had to do is touch his belly with my foot. I tried it with just the command but he is not there yet. He'll do it without the command and just the touch but not vice versa. I'll have to start adding in a hand signal to see if that will work. He seems to do better with signals to start off with anyway before getting more obedient with his commands.

LOL, didn't even notice that. Hey, he'll grow into them. I wish my "love handles" was because I needed to gain a little extra.

He really is sooo sweet and beautiful! I just love the natural look! He reminds me of my Dobie/Weim mix whom I adored! How is that tail doing so far? Knocking stuff off the tables?

The tail is a weapon of mass destruction. I love it though. I think he uses it on purpose sometimes.

My Bigelow was about 30 inches tall....he would hit men with it in a certain spot! Ha ha ha....he was always wagging it too...was a very happy boy! When guys would come in the house, they would immediatly cover up....fond memories of that sweet dog.

I don't know what it is about thet cross but my Blue was the sunniest dog I have ever had. He simply loved life. When we were swimming at the beach he would chase airplanes in the sky. Never did it anywhere else. He could also be a very serious dog and whoever he was watching knew he meant business. I felt the safest with him than any other dog because he could assess situations and take the appropriate action. I learned to depend on him.

Now back to Jordan, I love the first and forth pictures of him the best. but they are all good pics. OMG, that tail. It should win some sort of contest. He is a pretty dog and sounds like he a smart one too.

Bigs was always happy too! Not that Petey isn't, but Petey is much more DEMANDING....and does get very pissed off! Bigelow never!

Jordan is just to cute for words. I almost wish now that I had left Ziris Au Natural......... She could pull it off nicely I think. Jordan just looks like SUCH a sweet boy. I LOVE the second picture.

Thanks. I'll share your compliments with him. He is the sweetest family boy. We're still working VERY hard with strangers. He doesn't want to leave my side at all which is our biggest training set-back. He's very timid with the trainer and even with other people in the class but we're working on it. He does let others pet him now without totally cringing away. With us though he is a total doberlove and loves nothing more then to cuddle on the couch, bed or anywhere we go.

I still look back at my months without Cleo and how much we still miss her like mad but it makes us appreciate him so much more and not take for granted anything. I want to enjoy every part of him growing up and I figure the more work it takes us to get there the more quality time I get to spend with him.

BIB--Enjoy her stump, I miss seeing the butt wiggle. It isn't quite the same with the tail but the tail adds a little character of it's own. I'm sure she could pull it off just as well as he does though.

Javasmom--He does wonderful with any treat I throw out and tell him to leave it or just place down. If it put it right in front of him and tell him leave it he puts his nose right up to it and stares at it until I tell him "Okay, good boy". I love the look on him while he's waiting.

I wish it would work better with toads though. I can't get him to leave them alone at all. Still working on it.
