Today Sypha earned her NW3 - Elite title by earning her third NW3 title! I'm so proud of her (and us as a team).

We went out on a snowy day today in chilly 30 degree weather and had a perfect day. We had two "pronounced" searches. Sypha now joins less than 50 other Dobermans to hold this title.

Congrats! I’ve never bothered with NACSW because of what I perceive as the hassle of getting into events. I’ve just done AKC in the past.

We're really lucky to have a really thriving Nosework community around here and there are a fair number of trials, so we've been lucky. It's still easier to get into AKC trials (obviously), although Nosework is so popular that you can still get waitlisted for those, too! I prefer NACSW to AKC, although we do both.

Here's one of our videos...this was the exterior, and one of our "pronounced" searches. I'm really happy with this one. It was very "Sypha-led." She knew exactly what she wanted to do, communication was super clear, and it felt like I was just along for the ride, calling her finds. It was one of those searches where you just feel like you and your dog are communicating so clearly and things are so in sync.

Obviously, it's easy to know you're "right" when you have a search that is 0-3 possible hides and you find 3, so you can call finish easily, but she was also just so clear about odor in that search - you can see every head snap. Anyway.
