Hi
Has anyone experienced anything like this? My 3 year old male Dobie developed huge swollen toe (4x normal size) on his left hind leg overnight. I immediately had it xrayed after examining it myself for bruising, splinters, etc, etc. The xray was perfectly normal. He does not protect or favor it. He appears to be in no pain.
The vet said to have it xrayed again in 4 weeks...that will be this coming Friday. When I went to the same vet to buy parrot food last week the vet tech asked how Oberon's toe was and I told her there was no change. She said that it wasn't uncommon for a large breed to develop a tumor and that amputating his toe would solve the problem.
Tufts School of Vet Medicine is about 2 hours drive. Should I make an appointment? Please help me. 3 years ago I lost my beloved Ulysses to lympho scarcoma. I don't want to think something wicked is coming my way again.
Thank you
Vilkas
