Zeus is ready for his first summer!
We're going to have one to remember here in Texas. Highs have been in the high nineties, low one-hundreds already, and June isn't even our hottest month! The humidity is what makes it seem worse than what it is, but Zeus and I are gearing up for the hot summer months ahead! We bought him a kiddie pool for the backyard. We'll see how he takes to playing in water. He's not a huge fan of baths in the tub (even though he'll stand there and tolerate them with a "poor me" look on his face), but I'm hoping he'll take to splashing in the pool to cool off. I also made my first batch of watermelon pupsicles! He loves those. He's doing really well with his obedience training! We had our first group class yesterday with the big dogs, and below are some pictures of him practicing "place" on objects of varying sizes and shapes. He did a great job!

Trying out the pool in the house with the place command!

Pupsicles! Made about 20 of each.

This one took him a while! He had to figure out how to maneuver his big body to settle on a little place!

Yep hot weather has also arrived in Orlando Fl. After non stop rain for 2-3 weeks the heat has kicked in. Temps are already in the mid 90's with heat index 100+ We either train at 6:30AM or 8PM.

We have the same pool! Radar was all about it....until I put water into it. Now, it's an outdoor water bowl. Nice to not have to refill multiple times per day!

If you want your pup to water play in the pool..throw some of his toys in there .....it's like bobbing for apples......just toys instead.......
Hoss has a Mr. Turtle Pool.......>:)

Not even hot dogs will get him in there if there's water in it! Empty, he'll shoot in there faster than you can say "pool". With water, no chance. I guess it's too close to a bath? He will "swim" (jump around/splash/fly) in a lake, but I can't get him to accept the pool. Ah well. More water for him, less mess in the house for me :)

lol! @RADAR2017, Zeus totally is channeling Radar's feelings about the pool. Without water in it, he'll get in it all day. Sit. Down. Whatever I ask! We filled it up with maybe half an inch of water to stat out with, and .. uuuh, yeah no. lol! He looked at me with a "Mom, you ruined it.." look on his face when I tried to get him in! Lol water dog, not so much. I may try tossing in his toys tomorrow and see how he does!

And @LadyDi, it was torture not having my boy for so long! But he's better for it. He's doing so well, and he listens so much better than before! He learned a lot in those two weeks, and it's awesome reinforcing everything on our own now and teaching him new skills. We go to group obedience classes four days a week, and he loves seeing his trainer when she runs the classes. She kept me updated on his progress. Sent many pictures and videos. Was super responsive to my texts and questions while she had him. Very positive experience with her. :)
