I found this really good site where alot of people are posting pics saying no to bannings. I will be posting a pic I think everyone here should as well. If a few senaters look at this and change there votes that puts us one step closer to keeping our breed and other breeds safe.

Heres the website: sorryagain.com

I really like them ..the one of serenity makes it really personal. I dont know alot about this banning. Is It coming to Texas PD?

I feel very sorry for all the people caught up in this whirlwind of banning. If it came over here there would be a major uproar :( i couldnt imagine handing over HArvey.
Is the goverment taking any notice of everyones plea's to stop?

The banning has been put into effect in some areas of texas. Such as garland which is an hour drive from me has banned pitbulls. We are all afraid of how far it will spread. I have already told all my freinds that if that laws comes into effect for dobermans and they try to take trinity away from me I will shot them if they come on my property. Texas law saws that in texas you have a right to shot people who come onto your proprty without your consent. I have a gun and I will use it for this reason if this happens. Trinity is all i have and I would risk life and limb for her.

hey dont go shooting anyone..i hear texas has death row :help_up_2

i understand your anger though ..i would beat the poop outta them if they came knocking on my door .. i'd only get locked up though for awhile though lol

you would have thought they would have set up a test centre of some kind to determine whether they have a lethal dog on their hands or a good natured one like the ATTS Its horrendous that they want to kill them all.

I won't go shotting anyone I promise. If all else fails I'll leave the country. I'll go to germany.
Hate to burst your bubble PD but there is already legislature against Dobes in Germany... Will find the link and post it soon... Currently they fall in Cat 2 (I think) they must pass a temperment test and be muzzled and on lead in public.. A specific amount of liability insurance is required and the owner has to pass a competency test...

ok, just to show how things have changed. If a dog bites someone today, it gets destroyed.

My parents have a neighbor that has always had black labs. He's is a big hunter & the dogs are worked & go with. Anyway, when I was about 8, I went over to see if the girl wanted to come out & play. She was busy, so she told me no. Well the lab was outside eating. Being a dumb little kid, I got down by him to pet him. I got bit & bit good over my left eye. Blood everywhere. Stitches, & everything were needed.

Guess what? I was yelled at for putting my face down by the dog while it was eating!!!!!!!! No going over & telling Gene that Chip needed to be destroyed, no telling Gene that he had a vicious dog. I was the one in trouble!!

I guess my point is, laws are out of hand now. There are dog attacks where it is the fault of the person being attacked. Then there are some where it is clearly the owner at fault. I would say maybe 1% of attacks are actually the fault of the animal. They started doing it where if a dog attacks, not matter the reason, the dog is destroyed. Now all this ban BS. How about going after the owners who don't belong being owners. Or what about breeders who don't belong breeding?

To say we must ban all Rots, Dobes, GSDs, Pitbulls, etc. is ignorant.

While I won't say every single dog is safe with Max, I will guarantee every human who is not trying to cause me harm is safe with him. Ignorant.

Here is the pic that I submitted of Chi. Am going to try to find a great pic that I have of Storm (our old Pit) and Jordan asleep on the couch together when Jordan was still in diapers, to submit, it's priceless.

I have suffered 2 serious bites, one when I was three (did the same thing you did with my Aunt's old dog Tad) and once when I was 16. Both times it was my fault. My immediate family just could not understand why I didn't want to sue over the bite when I was 16. The family's insurance company offered to pay for all medical bills to include the reconstructive surgeries and a small settlement ($1,200.00).
Freckles was an adult -but not old- Aussie that was owned by a friend of a friend. Although I had been around him quite a bit it took him several visits to warm up to me and I knew that he had bit before and he didn't like strangers. So what do I do? My friend and I went over to his house (to visit his cutie owner David) late on a weekend night, Freckles was laying in his chair and the idiot I am leaned over the back of the chair and him to pet him, waking him up, startling him and ultimately loosing my left cheek. I swear I didn't feel anything and think I went into immediate shock. I stood up and David passed out. My friend - Mindy - was white as a ghost, I wondered what the heck was wrong with them LOL. Then I went to the bathroom to see how bad this little nip was. My face looked like something from a horror film, a gash from the corner of my left eye to the bottom corner of the right side of my mouth. Just below my left cheek bone to the right corner of my mouth was ripped all the way through causing that side of my face to just kind of fold over... Really gross stuff. But it was my fault. Should I petition to ban all herding dogs without tails now?

OMG tracyjo thats awfull..did you get surgery in the end?

my family have had only one pet dog (and we have had alot) that has bitten and i have to say it was the 10 yr old childs fault. It was a Jack russel that had an amazing temperament, very well socialised and was raised around babies and small chilren and was amazily behaved..we never ever thought he had it in him to bite. Well this child (i feel awfull saying this but he was the spawn of the devil) came round for a barbecue with his mum and dad..he teased the dog like hell the whole time and we had to keep dragging im away. we were all shocked at this kid as he had been brought up with dogs but today he thought it would be fun to torment the JR. well he sneaked of while the adults werent looking and started to yank the dog a around and try and wrestle him ..well our JR obviously had enough and bit him on the hand. We had to put him to sleep else it would have got legal even though the kid owned up to trying to wrestle the poor little guy :(
