Lucan just completed his "Headstart" program with the other puppies and was the most well behaved and eager to learn in the class. However all of the other puppies socialized during play time and even by the end of the classes he still tried to bite any puppy that would try to sniff him.
He was interested in them but if they turned to show interest in him, he growled and snapped. They suggested not putting him in that situation. How is he supposed to learn to interact with other dogs if he's not exposed to them?? But how do I do this without making him even more fearful. He had a bad experience at 9 weeks with an older dog that was a bit rough with him, now at 16 weeks I guess he has not forgotten. We've signed him for "Grade 1", hopefully with time he will become more sure of himself.
