I know this might sound silly , but i want to share this with everyone

. before we got stephie we had one or two dogs before back here in

india one cannot find many indoor dogs , except one or two . even the

dogs we had before when i was a kid were chained outside fed with

leftovers with occasional treats and morning and evening walks .

But after stephie everything has

changed . she has captivated everyone's heart . she has become one of

the member of our family commanding more affection and love than her

human counterparts my dad who never close with dogs ( he even doesnot

touch them ) now allows stephie to sleep in his bed . my mom everyday

specialy prepares food for her taking more care than ours . she does

not know what it will be to be chained except walking with leashes on .

it is surprising to me how a puppy can change our lives . now she

sleeps with me in my bed . even sits in our dining table for food .now

she is like a baby in our family .

Most of you reading this might think i

am dumb to post these useless things . but i just wanted to share all

this . thanks for reading my lengthy post .

There is nothing dumb about how somone or something can change people. When I came home with my first Dobe about 12 years ago my dad said, "No furniture, no carpetting, put it out" , but at the first sign of that girl shivering he took her on the couch and wrapped her in his blanket! It's awesome when you get to witness someone growing and changing.

Nothing dumb about your post. It is wonderful that your dog has become a treasured part of your family - it is what they are meant to be.

aww thats sweet! glad to hear how stephie is loved so much:) My boyfriends family got their first dog 2 years ago...and his dad didnt really want to show that he REALLY sececretly adores shaggy and is caught trying to secretely give shaggy treats and spends time petting him lol. In my eyes dogs are so much like humans and especially dobes...that they find a way to bond with any human all the time :)

Hey, I know what its like.. i grew up in a family that thaught animals had to be out side all the time. We used to have a Big black shepard mix that was out side all the time growing up. My partents didnt beleive in letting the animals in the house.. UNTIL i grew up and moved out.. i cant stand to see animals chained up since then..i will never have my dogs on a chain unless there isnt a fenced yard but only to go potty and for some fresh air. besides that my boys are in the house ( my mom doesnt have a fence yard in Ny and thats how my boys have to be when i go visit ).. but i will always have a fenced yard now and i told hubby straight up that anywheres we go i will put a fence up..
But yes.. i know what it was like.. now adays.. since my mom met our pit/boxer she fell in love. she said she has never seen a dog with better manners then him.. hes allowed everywheres in her house.. she never let dogs on the furniture or anything.. until him.. she told me ( we havent been back home in over 2 years ) that when we come up in july all the boys will be allowed on the couches.. ect.. she said she will especially put blankets on the couches so the boys can sleep on them if they want.. that is how much her life has changed since i been gone. and the meaning of having good dogs.
