We spent the morning hanging out with the working dogs and then in the afternoon took the Therapy Dogs Inc. test. It made for a very full and interesting day. This was the first time we had ever gone out to the local Schutzhund club. We were pretty clueless, but it was a lot of fun. From there I ran home and then headed out to where the TDI testing was being held. We passed the TDI test and we will now need to schedule three observation sessions to complete it. To follow are some pictures from the morning. I didn't have enough energy to worry with getting some pictures taken during the test in the afternoon.

Arriving

Working

What are they doing?

That's interesting, but I'd really rather be looking for more deer poop.

There are two dobes from that club competing in the Southeastern Regionals next weekend. Chris and Arras, and Leslie and Wyatt. Im kind of surprised Lindsey didnt enter Quinn. They are a nice group of people and all have nice dogs. Before I got Ziris, when I was on the puppy hunt, I actually thought a puppy from Lindseys breeding. Quinn and Charlie. She is very responsible about who her puppys go to and making sure the parents are health tested, all sold on limited registration, etc. Looks like you picked a good weekend to go! Lots of dobes. So, the real question is.........will you be back? :D I'm going to go up there one weekend soon. You did pick a great club of all the ones around here.

Congrats on your TDI! :D

Congrats to you and Lena!!!!!!Great Job! Wonderful pictures with funny commentaries - especially about the poo....why all dog's like it so much.. is beyond me. I think you even got a picture of a Terv in there.....:) I definitely agree with Amanda.....that's one, if not thee best, SchH clubs in this state. There looks to be at least one Doberman representin' in the AWDF - Butch Henderson and Agir Miss Jakoso, as they don't list the breeds and I'm not all that familiar with doberman competitors there may be more.......

Thanks on the congrats. I hope they’re not premature! We still have the three institutional observation visits to do. :)

They were all very nice folks and really seemed interested in helping each other. I'm still working on their names. I hate I had to rush off. (At least my son's hockey season is finally done.)

Let me know when you plan to head this way.

Sorry Tori....I did admit that I was not all that familiar with the working doberman's as I am with Mal's - was hoping someone would point out if there would be more doberman's entered. Good Luck and Congrats to you and Swift Run’s Jagged Jingo Jaws..... just being able to compete at that high a level.. Makes things easier for me...now I can root for Ivan and Mike with their Mals for IPO3 and you and your Doberman for IPO2 champs:jonkel:

Big congrats!! You will really enjoy Therapy work - my Velma loves it. We were just out Friday visiting the autistic classroom at the school I work part time at. We have also done nursing homes, roll over and read programs, and Brownie & Daisy (the young Girl Scouts) dog safety presentations.

Good luck on your 3 visits - I'm sure they will go great.

we went to ZTF testing this weekend - was supposed to be a Meisterschaft, but was cancelled due to lack of entries. Butch Henderson was there with Agir and hubby had a nice chat with him, while he was out of Agir's sight.

I had never seen it before and Jason and I were part of 'the group' for the testing. I loved watching the bites. man oh man, those dogs were fantastic! they were like rockets ready to launch and then with the out command were incredibly controlled. all the dogs we saw take the test passed.

I would definitley love to work the next dog into schutz. it was beautiful to watch.
