Hello. Raiden is 7 months old and I'd like to start getting him in the ring. He's show quality and comes from a pedigree of champions. He has great potential to finish fast.

I am searching for a professional handler in the Chicago area. I'm hoping you experienced dobe owners will have some recommendations for the area.

I have been consistently teaching Raiden to stand, stay, and bait a treat. I am no professional by any means, but I have been around the scene for some time. My dogs have always been shown by pro handler. Any suggestions for things I should be doing with him to get him ring ready (prior to me finding a handler)?

Raiden is my first doberman and also my first dog being shown in the Chicagoland area. I am from CO, where my previous dogs were shown.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

How do you know he is show quality?

Why isn't your breeder helping you?

Are you looking for someone to work with your dog on a weekly basis?

Where are you located are you actually in the city or the ourskirts?

Good point, I guess I don't know that he is show quality, because he hasn't shown/won any points yet. However, I bought from my breeder a "show quality dog".

My breeder is in a different state and has recommendations, but those recommendations are too far away from me to pursue.

Yes I'm looking for someone to work with him on a weekly basis. I live in the city (Wicker Park).

Thanks!

I would see if Mary Dependhal would be available to look at your dog and she may have handlers she could suggest.

Also go to some local shows and make contact with some of the handlers and see if they would be willing to take you on as a client.

Where are you taking Raidan for conformation class now? What are your plans when it comes to showing are you doing ring side drop off or are you will to let the dog travel with the handler.

I really like Tina Habert she is in Michigan but she will keep your dog for a couple of week work with him and condition him just keep that in mind.

I have been using Dave & Jennifer Goldfein and couldn't be happier with them. They do a lot of shows in Ill. and live not far from Chicago. They are wonderful people and very upfront and honest. I can give you more information about them and some contact info. if you would like to get in contact with them. Send me a PM and we can chat more about what they have done with my boy Ceethis and how you can get in contact with them.
