The UDC is an excellent resource. Have you checked out their website yet? Official Website of the United Doberman Club
they have a SAR puppy program however I believe you have to have finished and certified a dog in SAR already, or at least have experience in it. Have you done that before? It is a lot of fun but definitely takes a great deal of patience and persistence. I did it with my pup in LA, great fun for him... lots of pickin off ticks for me, lol.
and last but not least, here is the link to the yahoo group for SAR dobe handlers. It is an excellent resource. Shirley Hammond is on here a lot, she is pretty much the SAR dobe guru. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sardobe/
You might try ADAMAS in Georgia. She breeds dogs for conformation AND performance. Not sure if she's had a dog do SAR work or not, but agility, flyball, service dog, therapy, obedience and rally titles. Lots of performance behind her lines with dogs that like to work.
Thank all y’all that responded, but I’m afraid that I am just not prepared to fork out a couple grand right now. The last time I actually bought a Dobe was in 1978 I thought I was paying to much then $100 I kept that girl or should I say she kept me for 15 years.
I will be back just give me a few months. Thanks again
