Hi everyone! I've browsed your board a few times and was impressed at what great community support you guys seem to have. My doberman puppy's name is Astos, he's a black/rust male that my boyfriend & I are picking up on May 20th. I can't wait! Anyway it's great to be a member and I look forward to the conversations that we'll have in the future ^_^.

If anyone has pictures...I know that the standard crop is shorter than the show crop, but I would just like to visualize the differences on a dobe picture. Does anyone have a doberman with a standard crop that they'd be willing to post?

welcome - where in MD are you and what breeder are you getting your dober baby from? i am between DC and Annapolis. my current doberboy is a 5 year old sweetie name apollo - or Pollo for short. He is a rescue, and we are looking at getting a pup next spring/summer. tho hubby thinks we should get another rescue before then. the local rescue is having it's annual adopter picnic ina couple weeks. let's see if we can come home with only the one dobe - or if Pollo gets a girlfriend that day.

Welcome Astros, I am sure you are sooo excited to get your new baby! Have you owned Dobes before? If not you will totally fall in love with the breed.

Hi, I too am getting a new addition, (tommorow and I can't wait). OMG frznbuns What a gorgeous group, I don't think I've seen that pic before, all I can say is WOW.
Thanks again for all the warm welcomes! I'm actually in Columbia, MD, which is between DC and Baltimore. The breeder I'm getting him from is in NW Pennsylvania, it's a six hour drive >< but totally worth it :dancing_b . I've had a black lab when I was growing up, and my bf and I also own an eight-year-old male cat. I think things will go well. Thanks also for the standard crop pics! The two most recent pictures of Astos are in my gallery lol.

which breeder are you going to up in PA. there are three that I know of Triadel, Foxfire, and Caleb. good luck today and can't wait to see more pics of the baby

Triadel is Shirley Eck and she is in NW Pennsylvania. Caleb is Laura Jones I think she is closer to me and I am in SE PA - Laura I believe is in the Pocono Mts area. Right off hand, I can't think of too many good breeders out towards NW PA - Shirley Eck and Karen VanBrummelon live in the same town. However, I'd be the first to admit that I don't know everyone!!
