We found Lucy, a 16 week old red female doberman at a shelter.
The shelter knew nothing of her history as far as shots are concerned.
They didnt seem too interested in giving us alot of information on her.
We took her to the vet and she has no issues healthwise.
We did first round of shots just to be safe, and she is scheduled to get the rest of the boosters.
She is healthy, plays great in the yard and house with the kids as well as adults.
The shelter said she was about 16 weeks...I upon research dont think so.
She has no health issues and well feed.
She is 17 and a half tall and 25.7 pounds. Im thinking about 13 or 14 weeks old?
Just trying to get a general date of birth.

Give or take up to 10 pounds on either side.

Then after that....some bigger males will continue to grow at the same rate for a few more months, while females that are going to be average size tend to really slow down almost to a stop, as they hit their first heat. Average male is somewhere around 85 pounds give or take 10 and female is 65 give or take 5-10 pounds. Some pups have all their height by about 9 months old, others continue to grow until 18 months old. There is no set in stone rule as to how a Doberman puppy will grow. If the puppy is fed a good quality diet, exercised properly...it will reach the adult size that is preprogrammed in its genes. Feeding it more will not make a bigger Doberman, it will make a fat one.

Thank you for adopting :) What are you feeding her?

Thanks for adopting.

Ditto on checking how many adult teeth she has coming in-that should give you a better idea of her age than her current weight.

The blue girl I have who came from a shelter only weighed about ten pounds at about twelve weeks--she was very thin and developmentally behind, indeed, due to her rough start in life. (She caught up quickly and is average weight and size for a Doberman bitch, now.)

Bless you for adopting, and we'd like pics when you can.

We are feeding her innova large breed adult.
Incisors look as if they are the puppy ones still.
I will try to put pics up of her.
The only thing we have found an issue with is she has an inverted vulva...but there seems to be no issues with it.
Some postings on the net have said this pops out during first heat cycle.
She has an appointment tomorrow at the vet just to be sure.

She's really pretty. The second photo looks about 3 months old but the third one makes me think a tad older. Amazing that people did not look for her. Lucky little girl. Lucky you.

she is going to be a really sweetie. Sounds like someone had a litter and couldn't take care of them or sell them so they dropped them off at the shelter. You did good!!
