Hi All,

Long time, first time :) After about a year of research made an educated decision to get a doberman puppy. I reside in Boston, MA and would like to ask if anyone can suggest reputable breeder in New England area.
So far, I have looked at the following breeders:

Ny Dobermans- decided not to pursue (breeds the same dog twice a year).
Dobermans by Dullea- will be meeting her next week.
Canis Maximus- they are in VA, too far, if I won't fine anyone closer, I will travel to meet the breeder and dogs.

Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

John

I would start by checking the DPCA breeders directory: DPCA | The Doberman | Breeder Referral

You'll need to educate yourself on how to identify a quality breeder. You've found some less than ethical breeders, and you want to be sure and buy from breeders that are breeding to the breed standard. You want breeders that are titling their dogs in conformation (they are AKC champions) or working sport (most likely Schutzhund or IPO titles.

Some good reading on how to pick good breeders:

I would avoid those 3 breeders. Search the forum for info.

Check the UDC breeders list.

A couple of members here have Dobermans from Traci Mulligan (Rebholzer) in Vermont. Very nice dogs.
:nicejob:

I've had an amazing experience with my Rebholzer puppy so far, but first may I ask why you want specifically european or german lines in your dog?
