Sage had the worst trouble sleeping for months since Cleo died and asked every night for another doberman. We wanted to wait until we were all ready though. Now he is Jordan's sidekick/partner in crime/cuddle bug and all that in between. Every night we bring Jordan and Summer up for bed and he follows her right into our room quicker then we get there but as soon as we get there he runs right down the hall to Sage's room, jumps on the bed and immediately tucks his head under and closes his eyes. Every night, I get him back up and bring him back to our room for night-night.

Typically after the kids go to bed I bring him down with me and we cuddle on the couch and he gets sleepy time too. Tonight he just looked so comfy and by the time I was done tucking in Sage I just let him stay rather then wake him up. Almost an hour later he is still sound asleep.

I am not ignorant and I know the risk but I feel so bad tearing these best buddies apart. There is so much that Jordan could get into, no matter how much I try to keep my 5 year olds room picked up and I know he could get into something he could choke on or hurt himself. He could be startled awake and still not used to that by the kids, bite Sage, etc. etc. Just a bad idea.

I'm dying to take a picture but I know I'd wake them up. I think I'll give them a little bit longer.

I have to agree with Tom about the sleeping, especially as puppies. As far as being worried about him eating something in the room you might use that to your advantage and get your son to keep his room picked up. A valuable lesson some woman will thank you for in the future.;)
