Reese update & pics

I thought I would update everyone on Reese. He use to be such a good puppy but I think he has moved into his teenage period. My husband Joe drives a semi and is only home a couple of days a week. Last week he took the week off and him and Reese bonded. I have been the one that taught Reese his basic commands and he always listened so well. By Joe's 2nd day home Reese was following him around looking at him like he was king and I was just a chamber maid. If Reese did anything he shouldn't Joe could clear him throat and Reese would stop. If Joe looked at him Reese would sit. Reese also decided he didn't have to listen to me unless I had food in my hand. It was disgusting! Joe is back on the road now and Reese and I are starting over. He is still acting like I should do whatever he wants but he is coming around. He is 5 months now. Do you think it's hormones? His neuter is scheduled for a month from now and I just can't wait lol.

Here a few recent photos. The b&w's are blown up and on the rec room wall. I look at them as a reminder of what a good boy he is deep, deep down inside.

haha awww puppies will be puppies :) training just helps haha. That is a good idea though lol. Your boys look like they do wonderful with him!
Is that a real long driveway? or a Road? either way it looks like a wonderful quiet place you have! :)
Sounds to me like he's just a puppy being a puppy.

Mensa was the perfect Doberman up until she was just about Reese's age. She would come every time I called her, sit every time I told her, etc. Now she's almost seven months and she thinks she can make these decisions on her own. I guess it's all just part of the challenge of having a puppy, and a smart one at that.

Good Luck!
What great photographs and the b/w ones are very arty indeed!
I wonder if the kids realise that they have a friend and protector growing up with them,i know i always had a dog as a kid and just took them for granted, it wasn't till i looked back at my life and realised what a constant companion i had back then.As for his behaviour, well he has realised who is top dog in your house now ;-) :) your husband, you know we males always come out on top in the end!!!! :) :) :) :)

Brum that's just an illusion we Females allow you to have LOL ;)
Great Pics :D I am a huge fan of black and white
Cute pics. I love the blk/white ones.
That is funny about your husband. My male respects me more. lol.
I love the pic of Reese looking at the camera, you can see he has a gleam of trouble in his eye...=) very cute

Sometimes Duchess is has more manners and listens attentively to the people she doesnt know as much...when she was a puppy...and the trainer used her as a demonstration...she would heel perfect exactly how she is suppose to! lol and we were always like "OH sure" haha.
I think they know that you and the person who is with them mostly and trains them mostly is considered the "nag" haha. so they don't listen ALL the time. Just keep the training as fun as can be and once he is more mature and out of the puppy stage it will pay off...even though it may not seem like it now
Thanks everyone. It's good to hear that all of your dogs went through the same stage and that he is a normal puppy. I took him in to town for a walk the other day and we met a few new people. Reese sat and let them pet him just like a true gentleman. I guess I can live with the puppy stage as long as he minds his manners in public. It was so nice to hear people talk about what a good dog he is.

LapDog, sadly the house in the picture is not mine. It is my neighbors. Their house sits at least 1/4 mile off the road and that was their driveway in the picture. My house sits directly in front of theirs with a couple of fields in between. It seemed like the perfect place to do the pictures.
aww, such a cutie!!!
thanks for sharing your pics.
