Welcome to the forum, Lanessa :)

Where did you get Nelly and Georgia from? Have they been health tested (hips, cardio, vWD, etc) prior to breeding? Most people on this site are very well-informed about good breeding practices so any information you could provide about that would probably be helpful in finding the pups a good home :)

I don't think selling pups is even allowed on this forum.

Welcome to the forums but you will find most here require much more than just registered parents. Please stick around and learn what accomplishments/ health testing a dobe needs to even be considered as breed worthy. It is never to late to learn.

all i am trying to do is find a happy home for the puppies. i'm not trying to get criticized for letting my dogs breed. it happened. sue me. & now there are 7 little ones to get rid of. so... take your rude remarks elsewhere

ps...i'm not trying to sell my pups on this site.

Ah so your giving these pups away to great homes hopefully requiring they are fixed? I am sorry I was under the impression you came here to try to sell them. As far as rude no one has been rude, if you do not like the views of the majority of this forum perhaps this isn't the best place to peddle pups. People her strongly frown on people who breed for profit and not to better the breed.

take a look at petfinder.com next time you are bored, thats the only thing I can say about why they should be fixed. Its too sad, there are so many being abused, neglected, and euthanized everyday(all pets)that I cant sleep for days after I look at the site.:(

*sighs*

Ok let me put it this way.
We all love our dobes and want what is best for them, we all want them to live as long as possible with good health. Since you have not specified any testing for the dobes known health problems then its fair to assume that the pups may not lead the healthiest or longest of lives. Even the best lines with full testing can and do have health problems pop up, we simply can not test for every problem until a test exists. Since it is doubtful that the parents have been judged against the standard because you mentioned nothing about it, they are probably not the best in confirmation. Since confirmation has to do with dogs ability to safely and effectivly perform its function with the least risk of injury you can not be sure you are not passing problems on to the pups from the parents. Since the pups have so many *ifs* in their future and all of their *ifs* will become *ifs* with the pups too. They would be better fixed to reduce the number of dobes that are produced generation after generation with bad or high risk health. The breed has enough risk even with only tested titled dogs being bred.

people on here are very sensitive about breeding dobermans, and with right. The breed has a lot of problems as it is, the last thing that it needs is back yard breeding. The reason that the puppies should be fixed is that they may not carry the best aspects of the breed, and therefore shouldn't be bred themselves. When you say that the breeding "just happened" do you mean that you had a male and a female unfixed, in the same house and you didn't watch them enough to figure out that they might breed? Anyways, with that aside, you have puppies, its good that you're trying to get them good, loving homes. Maybe some more info on atleast their lineages?

Its sad that this person thinks we're "rude as hell" for being honest with her and telling her the truth.

The puppies are the ones who are going to suffer here since her idea of responsible pet ownership is obviously MUCH different than most. I wonder how many more "unintentional" litters of puppies she will have and then have to "get rid of"? Wow, what a shame. Its too bad people like this won't stick around and learn some things. :(

People like you are the number 1 reason for all the homeless Dobermans in the world today! People like you shouldn't be allowed to own the breed!

People have to want to hear the truth before they will accept it. To her, we are just being mean because in her eyes her dogs are perfect. Lack of knowledge is a sad thing because it can be fixed but rarely is. Instead of being defensive, if more people would understand we are not being mean, we are trying to help the poor Dobermans in the world who need it the most. I just read on terrific dogs where someone is trying to place their two 2 1/2 yr old Dobes due to agression and other problems. They have already had THREE litters because there is just no way to seperate them (and they've tried everything....) THREE litters at 2 1/2 yrs of age!!!!!!!! I hope someone will take the poor dogs and get them fixed, they've already contributed enough!!! Soooo many dogs in rescue or worse, just in bad homes.

If I asked someone if my butt looks fat in my jeans and they said "yes", how can you be mad at the person you asked if they told you their opinion.

Members on this forum already know what I think of the above situation. Nothing of this breeding is enticing to me, at all. To the point where I cannot even comment at length.

This forum is a huge wealth of information and debate. These pups don't deserve this.

:thumbs-up :thumbs-up :thumbs-up When I first came on this website, I thought that people were rather opinionated and short, I wouldn't call them rude. I have come to learn that they are a caring group who is totally dedicated to the doberman breed and its betterment. THey let me have it when I said that my 2 pups came from PuppyFind.com, although they were not BYB's. I listened and learned a lot. I would respectfully suggest that you do the same. You don't have to agree with every opinion, what kind of a world would that be? DoberMom2b gave some good advice on why the pups should be neutered. Perhaps you should turn to a doberman rescue and see if they will take the little guys. Have I missed something here and come in on the middle of this? Where are you from? It doesn't sound to me like you bred this litter, but rather it happened, is this correct? Because 18 mo is really too early for a bitch to have her first litter. I hope that you take advantage of all the info, or should I say bloviating, lol, on this site and use it to your advantage later with your dobes. If you perhaps post in a different manor, you may get someone who is willing to take the pup or pups. Also, www.sitstay.com may be another avenue for you to explore. Good luck. :rotate1:

I agree with everyone's encouragements to you to get these puppies to rescue to find good homes for them. Be responsible and do the right thing by them. That goes for the parents of these puppies as well. The advice given to you here is sound, don't let your ego and pride get in the way of what is the rational thing to do here. We have enough BYB out there, please do not add your name to the list.

It's hard to give you a chance to make you feel at home here at DT if you come in swinging on your first message. These folks here are good people.

Good luck.
