I DLS personally recommend the following breeders: Botrina, Gatehouse, Promise/Olympia, Rauschund, Wittrock, and I will add others as I check them out. SOme I know personally others I just LOVE their dogs. Even though I may like them it does not mean that potential puppy buyers should not check them out for themselves. As some here have said, it seems we only list the ones who we do not approve of, and we should continue to do so, but I think both should be discussed.

Well, as a totally novice Dobe owner, I'll personally have to add:
Sherluck/Faye and Gary Strauss. Faye is an AKC judge as well and they've bred 100+ CH over the past 30 years I think.

Wingate Dobermans/Jody Huston is the owner of FiFi's Dam and has produced 40+ CH as well as put several obedience titles on her dogs.

Both Faye and Jody are my mentors (geez what fantastic mentors to have, lol). They've totally opened their minds, homes and hearts to me and my family, being the novice Dobe owners that we are. Jody "let me have a great puppy" because she liked the family the pup was going to, not because we were going to show. We didn't know at the time, I think she really didn't evaluate the pup, because of us.
They have made this new "hobby" of mine so much fun, and I learn something new every day through them.

Emerald Dobermans/Cathy Ceely (Tosca on this board) ..... I'm really just starting to get to know Cathy I feel. I don't know much about her breeding program, but as a novice owner ring side, she's been friendly, welcoming and supporting. She does so many other things with her dogs too, agility and obedience, AND has a great sense of humor about when her dogs don't "perform".

Colorado Dobes already mentioned Starlaine/Elaine Hopper.

Disclamer: These are my personal opinions and experiences. There may be people who see it differently.

Of the ones I mentioned, the only ones I haven't been to their home is Gallant and Foxfire. However I fully trust Michelle and Mona , also Cindi H (Ciden) who breeds with Mona.
The others, I know personally and have for a long time. I do know how their dogs live.

I don't have personal experience with any breeders except Gorrmae, but I would definitely recommend Lori. She has produced many good dogs, including Red's brother Reggie who is mere points away from his championship at only 17 months old. Great breeder and great dogs, imo :)

I have had similar experiences as Sorthund on a couple of her references!

I had a good experience with Jody and Wingate Dobermans. I felt that she was very supportive of my dogs when I did performance work with them.

Also I know how much care Cathy Ceely / Emerald Dobermans puts into her litters. (Not to mention helping others) I know she stands behind her dogs 100% As competitive as she is, (a quality I love in a professional handler) she loves all her dogs for who they are.

Talent Dobermans is also definately worth looking at. Jessica is great.
She does not breed very often, but I know her boy has been used at stud. In fact I think he has a litter on the ground with Montwood / Arista. (They have produced a LOT of top agility dogs)

While I think most breeder's mentioned in this thread are very good, I will just comment on those who I've had dogs from or know well on a personal basis. Good breeder's IMO, not only breed good healthy dogs with longevity but are there for you for the life of the dog. I would highly recommend Cathy Ceely-Emerald Dobermans, Mike and Renee Holth-Royalwood Dobermans, Sue Lynch-Stardust Dobermans and Bonnie Wittrock-Wittrock Dobermans. None of these breeder's breed very frequently but have good dogs and are always there for the puppy buyer's. They also all have been in the breed for many years and all have vast knowledge.

I'll have to add Lothlorien - Bunny Lanning, although she breeds maybe one litter every 2 or so years.
Adamas, Elizabeth Barrett is a very nice person to deal with and I have spoken with her on several occasions at agility trials.
Perfex, Michelle Perfect has lovely dogs. Shoot, I know there are more that haven't been brought up that are escaping me ATM.

The breeder I got my puppy from was amazing. Being a newbie she took tons of time to explain everything to us. The name is Regency - Sherry George - located in Nova Scotia, Canada. As far as I could research, she was the only registered breeder in the province. She only breeds every couple of years, so I was very lucky to get one of her pups :)

I've had exceptional luck with Sandi Hunter - Bruda Dobermans (in Illinois). I couldn't ask for better support from a breeder, Sandi is *always* there for me, day or night.
