Poseidon never complains that there are too many bags of dog treats in the pantry. He never has a fit that I spent over $100 at the dog food store on food and even more dog cookies.

Quadratic equations are Algebra. If you multiply (x+2) by (x+3) you just take each piece multiply it and add up the results. So x * x = x², x * 3 and 2 * x gives you 2x+3x = 5x, then 2*3=6. So your result is x²+5x+6. This is a called a polynomial.

Quatradic Equation
x²+5x+6 = 0

"Solving quadratic equations" usually means finding what the possible values for x are if that polynomial is equal to 0. For an easy one like this, since we already know x²+5x+6 = (x+2) (x+3) we know to get 0 either (x+2) has to be zero or (x+3) does. So we know x has to be either -2 or -3.
