Question for the show folks (and likely, a silly question at that).
I’ve been seeing gorgeous young dogs (4-6 months) at shows with fully erect ears and wondered - are these dogs unwrapped just before show time and reposted after or are these dogs actually finished posting?
So another question—if you have a pup whose ears are still quite flippy, is it worth it to show them (in terms of placement—I can see the point of them getting the experience in the ring), or do you have to wait until their ears get at least decent looking for that short time they're in the ring?
Most young puppies' ears stand at least enough to go in the ring for a few minutes and repost after a show so it's not an issue. You can manipulate their ears to stay up to some degree too.
I've seen plenty of dogs with flippy ears in the show ring. As far as how they do, it just really depends on how good they look otherwise.
