As long as medically everything checks out for him first and foremost. Lexus went through the same thing as a pup. I'd almost have to bribe her to eat by sitting with her and feeding it to her. She was very disinterested. And she was feed hamburger and cottage cheese with evey meal, and even turned her nose up at that. I think she was about 5 to 6 months before she eat readily.

The last few days Diesel has been more than disinterested in his food, since we got him he has keenly eat dried and soft food, but seems to stop eating a particular type after a short while. Now he is disinterested in both, but offer him a dog biscuit and the will eat it gladly.
Any ideas, does anyone have this problem, are they just faddy dogs?

my boy spirit is like that sometimes one day he will eat his breakfast and the next day he won't .. somedays he will go all day without eating till his evening meal.. I do not tolorate the fussness.. if he does not eat or is only sniffing at the food but not eating, I take the food away and offer it to him later in the day.. As long as he is not loosing weight,, it will not kill him to miss a meal or two.. Dogs will not let themselves starve to death.. he will eat sooner than later. Giving in to him can only lead to trouble.. If he is not eating take the food away and offer it again later.. good luck
A woman I work with has a Jack Russell pup who, after a couple weeks on a brand of food, would turn his nose up at it. She was going out of her mind trying to find a brand to 'please' him til she settled on one brand and held her ground with him. If he wouldn't eat, she'd take the food away after 10-15 minutes and offer it to him later in the day. He didn't hold out very long before he started eating again and soon realized that he better eat what was offered to him, otherwise he'd go without!
Ava also went through a period(9-14weeks old) where it was like she had more important things to do than eat. She'd take a few bites and run off to find something funner to do. She'd happily eat cookies but she never wanted to sit still long enough to eat a whole meal.

Just a quick up-date, still just sniffing at the feeding dish, though he did eat a load of beta puppy last night, he only gets interested in the food once my 8-year spaniel collie cross starts to eat his meal... I'm just removing his food dish and try again later. I guess when he is hungry he will eat.
well what i did to prince and tasneem was took their food and gave it to them for thrity minutes in the morning... if they dont eat it within 30 minutes take it away and then later put it back... and try it again if you dont give any treats and no food it will make him eat... do you feed alot of treats if so that could be it... i stopped feeding mine treats almost completely and started training them differently.. and it works much better than food yet they have all the same stuff food.... very little treats and major positive training .... and it works.... and they eat what i want them too... hope that helps you out..

Jess's advice is what I would have told you. You just have to stay with a brand and stay with it Stick to your guns. It's fine if your dog misses a couple days they will finely get hungry and eat. Good luck and keep us posted.
deisel i went thru the same thing... i have switched to raw and completely raw now they love it and been eating it for two weeks and they are doing great growing like weeds plus... they arent getting tired of their food... they eat all the darn time. so they love what is going in and everything is good coming out. i hope that this helps maybe your pup would do great on raw.

Diesel seem to have settled on bakers puppy/junior for the time being, I will try and keep him on this and not give in to his fads.
Just noticed today that he has been at his tail again, the lamp-shade has been off for 2-weeks and he has never touched it until yesterday, he has broken the skin again. Back out with the bicarbonate of soda and Vaseline to stop it itching him....
I take it tail problems are very common?
