Pinch collar link width?

I need to get a new collar for Ripley, as there are some situations in which both Dobermans need to have a pinch on and we only have one (not many situations, but still, it'd be nice to have two when needed). However, I want to order a Herm Sprenger one and I have no idea what size I need. The one I currently have was bought a really long time ago and I don't remember what the tag said the width was, and I can't find a measuring tape to measure it now.

By looking at the current collar on Ripley, can you tell what size it is?

My options for link sizes are 3.0mm, 3.25mm, and 3.99mm. I tend to think that the one I have is the 3.25mm size, but I don't know. What size do most Doberman owners have?

Thank you! Didn't realize there was a 2.25mm one. In that case, mine is definitely either that or the 3.0mm one. Next time I get dog food I think I'll just take it into the store with me as the guy who owns the store does schutzhund with his GSDs... he should know what size mine is, or at least be able to tell me which size would be best.

And Voodoo, I did take a look at those ones. Not sure if I like it or not though... I prefer the regular ones. :)

I have the 2.25, and it looks like the same size as mine, but taking it into the store to double check is probably your best bet. They're all easily adjusted, so any size will do really. The smaller prongs actually offer a stronger correction, "more pinch per inch" as they say, but they look less unsightly around those long skinny Doberman necks.

Lorna (incredibledobes) gave me some good advice on prongs. Sam has a 3mm. I stated I should have went with the 2.25m Herm. She said the 2.25's actually give more correction and could be used on a dobe that needed more corrections. So, I'm sticking with my 3mm

It looks to be about the size I use, which is 2.3mm. I love the smaller prong sizes because its easier to get a correct fit, and doesn't look as huge and bulky as the larger sizes.

If you measure the width it should be 3/4". This is the medium 2.25mm collar.
I find that this one works the best. I have the next size up and the prongs aren't pokey enough and he will pull on it.
