Potential breeders

:kiss:Now that I have been informed of all the minor modifications that I needed to make/deal with/understand I have come out a more prepared future dobe owner can't wait to have a sweet little girl pup. Ideally I would be able to have her in my home in 6 to 12 months. In a fantasy world I would find her by this spring. I have several breeders in mind to cushion the blow of the possibility of a few of them not having a puppy that is right for me. Do any of you own or have experience with any progeny of the breeders below (or the breeders themselves)?

Gorrmae
Bell'lavoro
Kansa
Miravia
Masaya
Lyndobe

I have a 7 year old bitch from Gorrmae (Can Ch Gorrmae's Simply Complicated TT, CGN and will be going for her CD next month). I've co-bred one litter with Lori. I know she really cares about her dogs, and she tries to do right by them. We keep in touch to this day.

When we went to see Shelby as a pupper, we met her mom, her grandmother and her 14 year old great grandmother. Lot of longevity in her pedigree.

I've heard good things about all of them except Miravia, and I've actually heard nothing of that kennel (so I'm not saying anything negative!) They look like they have nice dogs though, hopefully someone who knows them will chime in.

I think you've got a really good list here though! If you don't mind me asking, what are you looking for in a pup? Are you going to do any sports or obedience? show? just a loved pet? I think that would help us narrow down your list, because there's quite a variety within the breeders listed, and I think your plans with your puppy would really influence which breeder would be best for you :)

I don't have a puppy from any, but all my expirence with Brandi (Masaya) has been positive, and she has talked me through looking for my next puppy, and what I am looking for, and has answered all of my questions quickly and with great detail!

Oh and I like the upcoming breeding, because of Cinders :)

I have no experience with any of them but I've heard about all but Miravia. Everything I've heard is good so I think you have a pretty good list there. I imagine if Miravia is on a list with those other breeders they must be pretty good too.

I agree with Abby. The list you have covers alot of ground. I think you need to have a clearer idea of what you are looking for.

I have only spoken with Gorrmae before. She is definitely a very reputable breeder and breeds some lovely dogs. My dog's breeder has co-bred a few litters with her. There are also a few DT members with dogs from Gorrmae.
I have a Lyndobe boy. Love him and love Lynne as well. Don't personally know Lori (Gorrmae), but have seen her dogs at the shows and she is well thought of by the local Dobe community.

Thanks guys! I'm looking for a female black and tan. I am going to pursue competitive obedience. I have considered agility and have already purchased a few pieces of equipment, but will take pursuing it in stride because the obedience is what i'm really interested in. I'm also looking for a girl with potential for a little more bone/a little thicker. First and foremost the puppy will be a well loved family member.

Owned home, fenced yard, house insurance that only restricts dogs with a proven bite history, a few dog parks very close by, one small male dog and male cat in the home. Cat is a rescue and has his front paws de-clawed. I am a vet tech and my boyfriend is a police sergeant, both of us work ten hour shift so one have to be at work 4 days a week. We also work semi opposite schedules so the puppy would be left alone around an hour at most.

Thanks guys!

Looks like you have a great list going!
I have a Kansa boy and I love him! We’ve had him for about a month and a half; and he was 5 months old when he came to us.

Doug is very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. He isn’t close in physical location, but has been more than helpful via phone and email.

I highly recommend Kansa. :)

I have a Gorrmae doberman and he is such a cool dog. I would recommend Lori. I also know Doug (Kansa) is a nice guy.
You have a list of good breeders. I am sure you will find the right puppy for you!

Hi!
I actually live pretty close to you, i live in Richfield. You do have a good list going as others have mentioned, and i would also recommend Bruda and Smack Dab who are both in IL. I have a Bruda girl. There's also a person I compete agility with and she has 2 Smack Dab dogs (she just got a new puppy). And she just got her Mach today! They'll also be at the agility trial both Sat and Sunday in Burnsville at Soccerblast if you have time to stop by you could meet a few dobes in the area :) I'll have my 15 month old dobe boy with, and i compete my IG in agility. Someday Neo will compete too, just now he's a total puppy and i'm in no rush. Good luck with your search!
Stacy

ETA - just realized you said you wanted larger bone...these 2 breeders breed the typical show dobe (not any euro influence). so maybe not your exact style. ah well, I still think they're great and worth checking out! :)

Nice! I can't believe how Fall-like the weather is already :( Fall is my favorite season... I was just hoping for a little longer of a summer after such a terrible winter!! Anyway, Mona is gorgeous!! I admittedly did/do have my heart on a thicker look but since realizing that I would be getting a female pup I have started to soften just a little bit on the subject.

When it comes down to it: a beautiful dog is a beautiful dog, thicker, more bone, petite, euro or american. It'd that dobe personality that I'm really crazy about!:)
