Hi I have about 2year old male dobe who is Caeser.
He is such a good boy however I am having trouble with petting him.
I really get itchy and feel something is biting me. There is even bite marks(red bump) however he doesn't scratch himself a lot or doesn't have any bug on him.
I went to five different vet and got a skin tested but all of them said they didn't find any bugs on him.
And i am not only one who gets itchy and getting bitten by something. All of my friends get ichy too. And biting gets worse when I am giving him a bath. And bite mark goes away in couple hours too.
I am feeding him Innova, vitamin, and fish oils. And he is inside dog. Amd using frontline, and interceptor.
Please help.... I am so stressed out... Please help

P.s I haven added a pic of me got bitten after I pet my doggie...
And the ichy started just couple month ago and it is getting worse.
It is just not only me who gets itchy after petting him, everyone gets itchy
also I have already gone to my doctor to check that I have allergy, and I do not have... please help..

YOU may be allergic to your dog. It sounds like this is something you need to see a dermatologist or allergen specialist about. Often people are allergic to pets, i'm sorry you are having such a hard time worth this :(

Is it only in one location on your dog's body that he gets the bumps and the itchiness? If you pet him only on a specific place, do you get itchy?

Or is it all over his body, and when you touch him anywhere, you get itchy with whatever part of your body you used to touch him? You say they are bites. How long does it take the bumps to go away on YOUR arm?

YOU need to see a specialist, not your dog.

Did your doctor do allergy testing on you? Have you tried taking allergy medication?

What shampoo do you use on your dog? Is he on flea prevention? Is your area prone to bed bugs?

Well, you said the dog has seen 4 vets, and sounds like he is on a good diet, and preventative care. He checked out fine.

You have seen one doctor, no preventative medications (allergy). I think you should find another doctor to get a second opinion.

You picture is a classic sign of contact dermatitis. Bring your picture to a new doctor, and explain your symptoms and when they occur. Even take samples of your dogs hair. Good luck!

how long has this been going on? did you change anything like food, shampoo, treats, "doggie clothes" detergent that you might use to wash his bed or toys but dont use on your clothes, cleaning agent in his kennel?

If you are getting bites, like from a mite, flea, etc they wont go away in an hour and your vet would have found something in addition your dog would be itchy and possibly show signs of hair loss of skin inflammation.

I had a dog that I was super allergic to when he had his puppy coat, then the adult hair came in and I stopped getting hives from him. It could be a seasonal change in his dander, even?

Did your doctor do an allergy test? did you bring in some of your dogs hair for it? It really does sound like you are allergic to your dog. Dont despair, though, as that doesnt mean you have to give him up. You could take antihistamines or use a benadryl cream on the bumps or even get allergy shots to help.

Also, could your dog be rolling around in some grass or trees or dirt that you might be allergic too, when he is out playing?

How long has he been on frontline? if it coincides with your reaction to him I would put money on that being your culprit. I am terribly allergic to frontline to the point that just petting a dog who has it will make me ill.

He goes to dog park a lot... could he get something from there? but I usually wipe him with wiper..
I did brought his hair with me when I went to see doctor.(cuz doctor asked me to)
and got a skin tested also to find out which is causing that and he said it is not any kind of allergy but it is bite marks..

and the biggest thing is I am not the ONLY one who gets itchy by him and bitten by something...
I might go to other doctor to check in case that I have allergy..
however that does not make sense.. cuz everyone gets itchy even the grooming person who has contact with dogs everyday...

he has seasonal allergy and he is on benadryl and anitibiotic which is from his vet.
and I do not have any allergy to any trees or dirt or grass..

And this started just couple month algo. And I had him since he was puppy...
and it did happen before then...

I started using frontline last month cuz he was on revolution before. but vet recommaned to use frontline cuz maybe revolution was too week...:(
And he has strong doggie smell even though I give him a bath about once or twice a month..
Could that be related to this itchy probelm?
cuz I heard that dobe usually does not have strong doggie smell

I'm focusing on your dog's medications--in particular, the Frontline. It is known for causing skin reactions in dogs and can cause reactions in the people who are applying the medication, or petting the animal. I also wonder if you are ordering your Frontline and Interceptor on-line, because it is common for medications ordered on-line to be incorrectly handled, contaminated or even some other substance entirely. Did this problem start when you started using a new batch of any of his medicines or shampoos or other skin product?

I get hives too, and I have learned that a product like Benedryl will only keep new histamines (what causes the itch) from forming--it won't get rid of the hives and histamine that is already there. They have to fade away on their own. So Benedryl works better if you take it about 15-20 minutes BEFORE you expect to come in contact with the thing that is making you itch.

If you have any swelling of your face, or mouth when you have these itchy times, you should tell a doctor, because that swelling can make it difficult to breathe.

A thought--do your friends get a rash too, or do they just say they itch? At any given time, I could probably feel an itch somewhere on my body, if I think about it, and if I had a friend who was telling me I should have an itch like they do, because I touched that dog and I saw the rash that friend developed--well, I might just decide I itched too.

Thank you :)
but all of my freind get the rash too...
and I do not get any swellings or coughing anything just the itchying..
I got frontline from petco store..:(
and got the interceptor from vet

I think I changed his vitimin to show stopper from pet tabs..
could that be a problem??

and I might go back for the revolution instead of Frontline..:) thank you for the advise:)

I'd consult with a board certified veterinary dermatologist, if you haven't already.
