After the show in Orlando we visited with my in-laws on the Gulf coast near St. Pete. We spent some time exercising in a large field near where they live. One of the underground sprinklers was malfunctioning and made a perfect doggie water fountain.

I know you all enjoy looking at Dobe pics as much as we do so…

First a game of catch

Then a refreshing drink

Which leads one to think

It must be time

to Boogie!

I'm with the others - the third pic is my fave. she has such a perplexed look on her face, seems to be wondering, hmmmmm this is water.....is this evil water or can it be trusted to stay right here and behave itself?

It looks like she had a great time!

I don't know how far you were from Ft. DeSoto on the southern tip of Pinellas County, but they have the most awsome dog park & dog beach there. We are originally from St. Pete and go back to visit family - we brought Velma with once (pre Louise) and she LOVED that park.

We just do not have fenced places around here to let dogs run - the nearest dog park is a hike. Lots of open fields but too many deer and other critters to take the chance.

We will have to go. It's been years since we have been to Ft. DeSoto. I knew there was a dog park there, but as a rule we usually stay away from dog parks. Of course, the dog parks in Florida are much nicer then what I've seen in other states. The dog beach we usually go to is on Honeymoon Island. It costs five dollars per car, but it is only about a 20 minute drive from my in-laws. DeSoto is a bit further, but sounds like it would be worth the effort. Besides, I don't think we have ever done the tourist thing there with the kids. We need to do it soon as my oldest, now 14, is getting to be too cool to hang out with his parent's. :) Perhaps this fall? I'm not sure if we will be down that way again before x-mas. We are trying to make our family trips coincide with dog shows for now.

Great pictures

You need to be aware, that water coming out of an irrigation line is not the safest for your Dobe. you never know what chemicals have flowed back into the lines, after fertilization or chemical application. what starts out as a day of fun could end much worse.
