I did not want to hijack the leads thread.
Has anyone bought one of these-padded choke collars?. I think it would have a place in my collection. Also any thoughts on colors--they have about 6. Keep in mind Tamora is a red.

Thanks for whoever found this one (Kim maybe?)
Also what products you have bought and what you thought.
Pricey but good leather is.

I wondered about that one as well but ultimately decided to go with the rolled leather..

And yes, it was Kim who told me about Hoganleather!

I almost bought one at a show a couple of weeks ago. They did not have the color I liked in the size I needed. I also was just not nuts about how it fit ....... but that is just me. The leather is really nice and soft!

I was curious if I can ask. What did you mean about the fit? I`m going to a dog show this Sunday and am going to look at the vendors there. J & J is going to be there. I`m hoping they have some of the things I want. No shipping charges. Yea!
So I will shop around. Not good but oh well.

I didn't like the limited choke part - for me, it was too limited. I like a martingale collar better for having some control. For at home, my dogs either wear just a flat collar or a lupine martingale. I have to have a collar on them because of all the kids coming and going in our house - I need to be able to grab them at the door.

I'm still looking for something special for Louise with bling. Not that she would wear it much, but just to have for special occasions - LOL! I saw this website........not sure if anyone has ordered from them? They seem to do custom work.

My 2 year old boy has to wear a collar in the house at times as my 90 year old mother lives with me. I am showing him so my local saddle shop ordered me one of the 'Tory' padded flat collars. Looks just like the one in Hogan. It is great as far as not rubbing hair etc. The padded limited slip for obedience would not work on my guy as he needs more bite to the collar at times. I work him in obedience in a pinch with a tab and a fairly fine rolled slip. While I love the padded flat collar for house wear it has no bite to it, so it would depend on how much control at times you need from the collar.

That will look beautiful on her. You will have to take a picture.

I`m still toying with getting one--maybe the brown w/forest green.. This past week-end I was at a dog show. J&J was there. I bought T. a fine chain collar and thin leather lead (love the way it feels). Can be used in shows too. She works good in it.

O.k. here is her new collar, the leather is very nice. Just be forwarned, order a little smaller.
