Hi all, I am sorry for taking so long to introduce myself. I have actually been a member for quite some time, but I have been a lurker and just recently decided to jump in.
I live in the Pacific Northwest ( Washington area ) I am on my second Dobergirl. Lexi is 3 yrs old, my first RIP girl lived to ripe old age of 13 before the cancer became too much. She was my Heart/Soul dog.
I do all my own training and she was taught service dog work, S & R , Protection, etc etc. She knew over 80 commands both verbal and hand signals.
My new girl, I got wanting to have a slightly more aggressive, drive..wanting to get more into protection. Even though her lines are mostly show.. Cambrias Cactus Cash, Cashels Pheonix Rising, Rahdy's Sail the Seven Seas...etc etc... she has a very high prey drive and attitude. Definately a handful compared to my RIP girl :screama: Where my first girl was a dream to train ( about 20 mins to learn a new command and have it down pat ) Lexi is always changing things up, figuring out new ways to be sneaky or avoid doing things. What was I thinking ??? :bigmistake:
And to make things worse, I have had some serious health problems lately and I have been unable to train as much as I would like, so I have definately dropped the ball and need to step up to the plate.
Okies, sorry this has been so long and definately a long time in coming. :thanx:
