I don't have any experience posting ears but I do know that many members here swear by "breathe right strips" to provide support for the tips.
How far are you from Nancy? I'm sure she would have some ideas for you and if you are close enough, she would help out with it.les strat said:On my intoduction, I mentioned I might leave Maggie's ears unposted and see how they go unless they start to tip (which they didn't), so I reposted that night.
Well, something told me to take the posts off and check everything out, and low and behold, there was a small piece of meat right under the tip that was missing - like it had blistered off!!! Now I am not taping tightly at all. I think this piece will not leave a scar (God I hope not), but any bigger than this would definitley scar.
BTW, I was using tampon with tongue depressors taped to them. I can't use tampons alone as the way her ears are cropped with a big scallop near the top, it wraps around and was creating a permanent swirl on her tips, hence the flat tongue depressors.
This has scared me so much, I am thinking of just watching them from here out. My bud that breeds danes says when they are this far along (5 months) and standing well, he'ds watch it and if the tips need a little support, he uses something that will just support the tip - often just a strip of tape.
What do you think? This has scared ther crap outta me!
She lives about 30 minutes away. I guess I need to give her a call.velmadobe said:How far are you from Nancy? I'm sure she would have some ideas for you and if you are close enough, she would help out with it.
I tried that with my five month old Apollo-his right ear is a bit weak at the tip so I bought the breath right strips...needless to say it was on for a good sixty seconds before he shook it right off. Four strips later of trying I called it quits, they wouldn't stay on.TracyJo said:I don't have any experience posting ears but I do know that many members here swear by "breathe right strips" to provide support for the tips.
If you put a dab of skin bond on them, it will help them to stay. Just brush a little on the ear, then a little on the strip, wait about 30seconds to a minute for them to get "tacky" then press the strip on there and hold it in place until it sets. Hope it helpsLeighaG81 said:I tried that with my five month old Apollo-his right ear is a bit weak at the tip so I bought the breath right strips...needless to say it was on for a good sixty seconds before he shook it right off.
