No Pull Harness that really works

Has anybody bought or used a No pull harness that really works I have limited funds and Buddy is pulling on the scooter wears my hand & arm out holding the leash. So far I have tried Buckle collar, pinch collar( he wore all the hair off the under part of his neck with that) Now using a Hallti & a Gentle Leader worked for a couple of days now pulling with it?????must be a way to walk him with the scooter with out him pulling. Do not understand when walking on a leash I can have slack in the lead he does not pull on me just on the scooter. I would do the circle back routine but when on the street do not want to get hit by a car.Would try a parking lot but everyone drives crazy in parking lots. The little park by my house does not have much of a side walk. The big park is about 3-4 miles away have not tried going that far would get there fine but coming home it might be too hot. Can try that one this fall.Yesterday tried just stopping every time he started pulling did not seem to help but will keep trying that one for a while longer. Thanks for any ideas, sorry for being a pain but must be a way to do that walk him with out pulling my arm off.

I know that there is a no pull harness out there....I saw it in a catalog...I don't know if it works though...I may need to get one myself....my little darling is fast catching up to the weight of your guy at only 8 months old....and when he goes to run after something....like a BEAR this am....it is getting very very hard for me to stop him! I'm looking forward to hearing if there is one out there that works!~

Have you worked with a trainer? I'm sure there is some contraption that would work, but I personally am more into having a well trained, well behaved dog instead of relying on an artificial contraption to physically control a dog.

My mom uses the SPORN one on the shelter dogs she walks. It gives them the correction under their armpits and then It stops them from pulling and it relaxes. Has worked on a tree walking **** hound lol...and she uses it successfully on some Amstaff's etc...

When FiFi was little I tried all the no pull harnesses available, and she would still pull to the point where she rubbed her armpits raw. She'd pull with the Halti as well. They just didn't work for us. I think training is the way to go as Julie said, because he already walks nicely with you alone. He probably just needs more time with the scooter.

I think these harnesses only aid in loose leash walking if you teach the dog to walk nicely next to you.

I have the Easy walk harness and it works well but I have been working hard at training her to walk next to me. I'm not sure if it would work without the training.

I agree, I've never let Lukas pull us on our walks, with some practice and a good method staying in a heel is easy. Lukas heel's very well for 8 months.

Just be PATIENT. I believe if you keep up the training he will learn. He already walks nicely just not with the scooter so he'll catch on. Good Luck

have you tried a prong collar? that and lots of solid loose leash training should do the trick. the prong has worked on my pullers

^^Yep.........same here. I tried no pull harnesses, head collars, choke collars (hated them) and nothing worked. Prong worked great, and we are continuing to train, we are up to the point of not using the prong all the time now.

I think that is what you meant by 'pinch collar' isn't it Patches? I am surprised it didn't work, you must be SURE to have it on properly, and high enough to do the job. Perhaps you could have an experienced person adjust it for you..........maybe even the Vet or pet store you frequent will have a person to show you how he should wear it.
