Hello there, My name is Dan. I'm from Superior,WI. Me and my girlfriend are adopting a rescue Dobie from southern WI. We pick him up on Thanksgiving Day. He's a beautiful 2yr old red Dobie male named JED. We are so excited to get him. Hope the weather holds out that day. Cause its 12 hours round trip. Will posts picks when we get him. Any suggestions for keeping him occupied for a 6 hour journey.

Hi and welcome from your neighbor to the south. Thank you for rescuing :)

I'd say my suggestions would be: make frequent stops to let him potty and exercise a bit, maybe bring some toys that dispense treats that could keep him busy if he likes that sort of thing, try checking with the rescue to see what he likes!

Welcome and thank you for adopting! SpecialK's advice is great; my boy usually gets something to chew on in the car. I've also found that if the ride is longer than 15 min he tends to sleep 90% of the time.

Welcome to the forum! :) Cant wait to see pics of your new boy!

My tips for the journey: Bring wet wipes, plastic trash bags, clean blankets incase hes sick, bowls for food and water, earplugs (incase hes a screamer!) and some nice yummy rope/rubber toys. I would also suggest not feeding him too much before you leave. Good luck!
