Scoring the internet I came across PETGEEK Automatic Treat Dispensing Dog Toys, Dog Treat Dispenser with Dog Button Remote Control, Electronic Dual Power Supply Cat Dog Puzzle Toys for L/M/S Dogs Safe ABS Material, Blue Color https://a.co/d/bIRfsqr so of course I ordered one for Maui, anything to try and stimulate him. It comes tomorrow so I’ll let you all know how it goes. Also for those of you that ordered pupscicle from wood I just got an email that they are launching their new XL one soon.

I planned on using it for kibble. The video I saw that made me buy it was a lady that put the button 30 feet from the dispenser and her dog went almost a mile back and forth for his dinner. Login • Instagram

Remember, Dobes are smart! Maui will probably hit the button to make the cat jump when it's licking it's paws next to dispenser! (y)

Does Sully need one? I have an extra--he's almost totally Doberman proofed now...

HAHA....no thanks, I think we're all good here. We had a cat when we had Athena and Sully, I got him when I went away to college. He wasn't very fond of the dogs and they wanted to chew on his neck. We went out of town, boarded the dogs and sent the cat to my Mom's (my Grandma lived with her too) he had a lot of medical issues and needed to be home cooked for. My Grandma had just lost the cat my Grandpa bought her just before he died, and she was thrilled to have a kitty to care for. She asked if she could keep him because he was so happy there, which he was, definitely more happy there with her home all day fussing over him and she loved him so much. So I agreed she could keep him and I maintained all of his medical expenses. He outlived her by many years. We just lost him this year, he was 17 years old. It was tough having a cat with Dobermans that were raised with a cat, but now I can't imagine, Rizzo has incredible prey drive, not sure a small creature would survive in this house anymore!

Maui’s new toy came today and it was a success! Took a few minutes to show him how it worked and then he was off we kept moving it further away until it was about 5 feet, he went hit the button and then grabbed the kibble, we added a few high value treats to entice him. I’d post a video but, I don’t have you tube. He loved it! Highly recommend

@ECIN He is doing pretty good, except for having a lot of pent up energy, he just wants to run and play, which obviously we can't allow. Two weeks ago I would have been thrilled for him to be super excited and interested in toys! Today, it's a struggle to get him to focus on anything for more than a few minutes. Bully sticks are our friends. He also really enjoys being outside and laying in the grass. We're struggling to get him to eat too, he wants to do other things more. He doesn't seem overly skinny so I'm not terribly worried but I know he needs nutrition for his growing and healing bones. Today, we see the vet for a cast change, hopefully they xray it so we can see how its healing.

Hang in there Kido , it has to be tough , but the true is , it is probably harder on you than him :)

Did you say it has to be on for 6 weeks ? Or did I dream that :)

Thanks for the up-date

You’re probably right…most days I feel like I’m drowning just trying to keep him safe stimulated and fed and making sure Rizzo gets enough attention too. Thankfully, I have help, I couldn’t imagine how hard this would be if I was single. I finally, found a couple hours to go to Costco this weekend, we’ve been living off take out and whatever I can scrounge together out of the freezer…I’ve lost 8 pounds, so there’s that. The vet said hopefully he’d be healed in 4 weeks so maybe only two and a half weeks left. We just got back from the vet, I’ll update his thread.

So Maui went to the vet today to have his cast changed, he was really good for them and they said he sat there like a perfect gentleman while they worked. Ha if only he’d act that way for me! 😂. They cut a small V in the top front of his cast so it didn’t rub so much and of course he’s really obsessed with that now…easier to chew. I asked them to take X-rays so we could make sure we’re on track and everything looks good, the alignment is good and he’s starting to heal. Fingers crossed we can be done with this as quickly as possible.
