My angel was pts this morning,he was just a shadow of my heart dog and he let me know that it was his wish to leave and go over the rainbow bridge to meet his brother Banner and sister Amber. My heart is broken and I can't explain what he meant to our family. He had no titles or trophies but I wouldn't have swapped him for any other dog. He was loyal, funny, naughty, greedy, charming, handsome, kind and unique. Run in huge dobie circles, chase squirrels and be free.
Thanks for all help and prayers

Oh Alys, my heart goes out to you.
I hope he finds my Max and they can run free together.

Very sorry. This is a loss that goes deep into your heart, and only fellow dog lovers can truly understand.

Your friend will be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.

I will lend to you for a while, a Doberman pup,
God said, For you to love him while he lives
and mourn him when he's dead.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe two or three.
But will you, 'till I call him back, take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief,
You'll always have his memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught below I want this pup to learn.
I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true,
And from the folk that crowds life's land, I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to take my Dobie back again.
I fancied that I heard them say "Dear Lord Thy Will Be Done",
For all the joys this Dobe will bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we have known, forever grateful stay.
But should you call him back much sooner than we've planned
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.
If, by our love, we've managed, your wishes to achieve,
The memory of him and his love, will help us while we grieve.
When our faithful bundle, departs this world of strife
We'll have yet another Doberman, and love him all his life.

I am so sorry for your loss, it is never easy to let them go, but you did what was best for him and for this he loves you. Remember the happy times, remember the sad, but most of all remember the love you shared.

Run free sweet boy.

I don't frequent DT often these days, but I wanted to let you know that I am so sorry for your loss. Its terribly difficult and painful to let our babies go, but you did the best for your boy. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
