My new puppy will not eat or drink

2018 Views 22 Replies 19 Participants Last post by  RedFawnRising
Hey guys I just got a beautiful 9 week old red and rust puppy. He flew from texas to NC yesterday so I kind of figured he wouldnt eat much. But today he keeps trowing up and will not eat or drink any water. He hasnt had anything to eat or drink since before the flight. I was wondering if there was any advice or is this normal since he just went through a big change and will pass.

I would get him to a vet asap! Not worth taking any chances with a new pup. Good Luck!

Puppies can get dehydrated very quickly, especially if they are throwing up, and can go downhill relatively fast. I would definitely be getting him in to your vet for a checkup. Was there anything in his crate he could have been eating, i.e., blanket, stuffy, etc.?

keep us updated, wishing him well.
Oh no! I hope they're able to get you in at the vet ASAP. Poor puppy :(
I'm so anxious for you.

Please let us know how pup is doing.

When I took Dexter in for vomiting/diarrhea, they kept him overnite for observation and kept an IV in him to rehydrate him, as well as stomach meds to treat his gastroenteritis.

Hope your guy is OK...please let us know.
Poor pup! Please keep us informed. I am so worried for you.
I would also definitely inform your breeder about his health issues. If it's something that is contagious, it would be important for your breeder to know since the litter mates would have been exposed. Hopefully you have a health guarantee too!

Yes, please keep everyone posted on your new baby boy. Had he thrown up in his crate during the transport? How long was the flight? Did he seem overly anxious when you took him out of his crate? Hugs to both of you. I'm sure this is scary for you.

I sure hope an update is coming soon, this is really worrisome.
