Woke up this morning to take him outside for his morning pee, and that's when i noticed the pee spot. This is the third time in the past 2 weeks. Although, they've all been small accidents, i am worried what is causing him to pee at night. Since he's potty trained and i always take him take him outside to do his business before bedtime.

Have you taken him to his vet to make sure he doesn't have a low grade urinary tract infection?

And are you sure it's urine that you are seeing. If it's a small spot it could be saliva from the dog licking his genitals and his bedding.

No, it's definitely urine. I plan on taking him to the vet tomorrow. If it is a uti, how does a dog get it, and how do i prevent it from happening again?

That is an excellent couple of questions to ask your vet while you have your boy in there. Oh, nearly forgot mention, try to capture some of his first morning pee in a clean jar and take it in for the vet to test so he will know which bacteria to medicate for. Better than hit or miss medicating.
