I would most defantly leave them untaped until the redness/bumps, etc goes away. My Arya had some red bumps, I'm thinking it was from the heat. So I left them untaped for a few days, it cleared up and I retaped her. She will be 4 months on the 22nd and we are standing great, but I'm keeping her taped because one ear has a slight limp, but could be from teething. I also use johnson's zonas tape on the inside of her ear and outside. It's worked wonderfully. You do need to remove the sticky in the ears that builds up. Good Luck
