does the clicker have to really be that loud, i bought one at PetSmart and instead of the $1.49 i knew would work I went for the $3.99 one with "volume" control and a thing to put on ur wrist to keep it near, well this thing is slightly shackeldy and isnt as loud as the other one, does it really have to be loud?

I've read that if you put several layers of tap over the dimpled end of the clicker, that should soften the sound. The more tape you put, the quieter the noise.
