Welcome to DT. Can you tell us a little more about what you're looking for? Is there a particular venue you wish to train/compete in?

Will this be your first doberman?
Would you consider a rescue doberman?

Nothing Fancy. I just want a companion and a good pet. It's been 6 years since my last dog and my daughters are old enough to take care of this type of dog. I've always wanted a red Doberman, I think they are beautiful and elegant. I have a pretty big fenced back yard where he could exercise, run, and play.

The link in my signature line is a good checklist when searching for breeders. Also, the breeder referral list from the DPCA is a good start: DPCA | The Doberman | Breeder Referral

A great article from the DPCA: Doberman Pinscher Club of America: Living With a Dobe

Typically, a pup from champion/sport titled parents, with all health testing (including cardio) ranges from $1500-$2500. Again this is an average cost for a pet doberman. Ear cropping should be handled by the breeder as well.
